Seems like an excessive force case to me. Pretty frightening, what a way to die. I guess I'm lucky I survived what the government did to me...at least his case won't be swept under the carpet. FBI is involved in the investigation according to this link:

I agree that it appears that what occured here was very wrong but let's be very careful able sliding into a general cop bashing thread.
Anybody know more about him, why he was on the streets? The pics of him a little earlier on in his life didn't seem to be that of a man homeless bound.
I don't mean to put down the fine men and women of the law enforcement community as I realize their jobs often put them in harms way and they are seldom praised for any of the positive things they do, but....
Why is it that things like this seems to me more and more of a common occurrence these days? I mean, I would think the police would be better trained to deal with subduing unarmed individuals without having to use stun guns, tasers, batons, or other weapons. Especially when there are multiple officers trying to control an un-armed individual. It has become too common to see stories about several officers beating the shit out of one unarmed guy, or woman, or even a twelve year old with a stick.
WTF is wrong with people nowadays? (And I mean on both sides- those resisting the authority of law enforcement and those in law enforcement who over-react to a non-lethal confrontation)

Apparently he was schizophrenic. Probably didn't comply with officers "orders" so they tried to subdue him. They got a little carried away though.
These guys need to be help personally responsible. after watching the beating video the people standing by said he was tazed 4 times, cops coming from all over...just for 1 guy? excessive force maybe?
I hope a metric shit ton of justice is served. those kind of actions should never happen to anyone.

Attorneys?
Attorneys?
I blame the overly complicated directions to put on a condom.
I just got my stickers so I have no comment.

pics or it didn't happen.
my goal is to derail a anti-cop/cop bashing thread into a sticker posting thread.
They wonder why they get No respect.

The Army vet got it right when he was speaking in the first video linked. He stated that when he was in Iraq that if he or any of his Soldiers had done this to an unarmed insurgent that they would have been court-martialed and sent to Ft. Leavenworth. That is exactly right. Why do we hold our Soldiers to higher standards in combat zones than these police officers are being held to?
At least the citizens are protesting in a peaceful manner and not out looting and destroying property.

That was not my intent after reviewing my orginal post I woud like to state that my friends / fellow forum members that are leo's I'm sure are as infurated as I if not more so. Leo's as of late have enough to worry about with a negitive perception from the majority of the public without having to deal with a situation like this blackening their eye more. I appriciate the job they do and have the utmost respect for them, with that said with great power comes great responsability and the officers involved should be held responsable for what it was murder, not put on a paid vacation while the mayors office offers the victims family 900k in hush money.
My .02
notice how a lot of these incidents that we're hearing about that give such a black eye to law enforcement are happening in very liberal places like california, michigan, ohio, and pennsylvania?

This article states one officer had been injured previously by an assailant, lost an eye while on duty with LAPD. I just wonder if the alleged police surveillance will ever be made public? Secret government scares me...
