Just found out my father was in an accident and is now on his way to University Hospital. He was coherent enough to call 911 and my Mother, but she said he sounded really "out of it". She asked him if he was okay and all he said was, "I don't think so" then the EMT took the phone from him.
Earlier this month, my better half's father found out he has a blood clot in his lung.
All you Fathers out there take care of yourselves.

Yes it is. My Dad was in the hospital all last week they live in FL, he didn't let me know till he got home. Bleeding ulcer leading to another mild heart attack.
Prayers sent out for all the dads!

Prayers out to both your dad and Funkfools step-mom.
I'd have to expand your title out to it being a bad summer for fathers. I found out last week that my dad had skin cancer removed from his lip in late June.
I will say prayers for your dad.
Thank you for reminding me to give mine a call. It never seems like I talk to him enough. Anything good about me, he had a part in making. Semper Fi old man!

My thoughts go out to him.
You know life is hard sometimes. My dad fought in Korea, my stepmom beat breast cancer. My dad says to me all the time don't get old, getting old sucks.
I love old people they have alot more knowledge than I. Hopefully I will have something to offer to my sons and grandkids when I get there.
Alot of people don't respect the elderly, but if you listen you might just learn something as they have already done it.
I have been and am still a risk taker so I have destroyed alot of bones, and body parts I already have the pain of life on a daily basis, but I wouldn't change a thing and just hope I can hack it out when I am my dads age.
If not I will head for the woods and pick a Good Day To Die.

Thank you for all the well wishes. turns out he has a fractured sternum and broken ribs. May have a bruised heart so they are admitting him for the night. He also has a cyst on his kidney and a 7mm mass in lungs though they don't know what that is just yet. Good news is that he doesn't have to have surgery.
Great news. Now you can tell him not to scare ya anymore.

New news is that now, his left foot and knee are swollen to the point he cannot walk on them. I am sure the floor board slammed into his foot and his knee hit under the steering column ( the problem with the knee is that is the one he had replaced not too long ago) So he is off in morphineville getting new x-rays of his knee and foot.
The guy who hit him, and is at fault, is hurt pretty bad as well. He is an older man who told the EMT the year was 1942 after the accident.
