Here's a copy of the hand bill that the Sertoma Gun Show promoters are handing out. Good time of the year for a gun show so maybe I'll have a table at this one. I bet Alex will be there with his really neat stuff!
Anyone else planning on having a table at this one??

Please explain what the problem was at the last one? They had been doing pretty well and I didn't notice any screw up's at the last one that I attended. .

I went to their website and it said the gun show was at an address on Pikes Peak Avenue. When I got there, a sign was posted saying it was on Palmer Park. Yea, I wasn't too pleased about that.

How come they are having them every month now instead of every other?
Just curious if anyone knows.
I talked to more than one vendor that said it sucked working twice as many shows and selling the same amount of inventory.

yep its called greed and the worst part is if i dont show up i have to give up my table spot . it is kinda shity of them to do that to the vendors , but hey gotta pay to play in the shooting world .

Yeah Alex, if you do NOT pay at the show to have the same tables at the NEXT show, those tables are fair game for whoever wants them. That's pretty standard operational procedure for almost ALL gun shows.
I believe there are no really crappy table locations at this particular show due to it's size but we shall see.

We should organize a COAR15 show.

Sounds really nice until the cost of advertisement, facility rental and insurance comes into play unless theGinsue would want to hold one in his garage.

I know it wouldn't be free..
The real challenge is attracting enough vendors to offset the cost.
ill prob go to this one the surplus bug bit me hard :D

Oops, I neglected to add these [ROFL2][Tooth] to my post above where I mentioned the possible use of theGinsue's garage.

I'll be there :)
Unless they mess up, I generally have a wall table on the left side as you walk in the front door...
Stop by and say hello.
I have Basic Rifle and Basic Pistol classes coming up.

As long as its free for me to get in i'll guess I'll go again, don't know why but i will.

Lisa, I checked with the promoters of the show just today and told them I was kinda concerned about the air conditioning of the hall especially for us vendors. I was there two shows ago and on that Saturday, it was HOT and on Sunday it was dang cool on the North wall. They assured me that it should be OK for the entire building for our next show - Sept 10th and 11th. This time I should be there with an aisle table next to Alex, on the South side.
We shall see how it works out.

Jordan, with your usual good luck, perhaps you'll find a lot of FREE stuff at this show![ROFL1]
At my table, BS is always FREE so make it a point to be sure to stop by my table THIS time!

Bob,
Last month they were still using the portable air conditioning that they pumped in thru the back door, but the temperature was actually pretty comfortable. Tony at the table next to me brought a fan but never turned it on; it wasn't needed.
I'll see you there :)

You lost me on that one Mick.???????????????????
If you are referring to a gun show NOT allowing CCW while the show is open to the public, I don't know of ANY gun show that will allow CCW in their hall/auditorium while the show is in progress.....All of the gun shows that I am familiar with do not allow any loaded guns with the exception of those of their Security people and Police officers.
Mick-Boy
09-02-2011, 10:26
Yes. That's what I was referencing Bob.
I do my level best not to support organizations that don't support CCW. I'll pass.well im not telling you to break the rules or anything . but if your doing it right no one would know that your carrying right ?? they dont search you at the door or anything so whats the big deal ???
Mick-Boy
09-02-2011, 13:14
I get you.
I just prefer not to give my money to organizations, especially a supposedly pro 2nd Amendment organization that refuses (or tries to refuse) it's patrons the right to carry. There are plenty of other places I can take my business so I vote with my wallet. I'm not saying it makes a big difference. But hypocrisy annoys me.
BlasterBob
09-02-2011, 14:21
Mick, I very seriously doubt if the gun show people (promoters/hosts) are opposed to CCW, it's just that they don't want loaded guns in the hall/auditorium. If I remember correctly, at a gun show in Denver or maybe Tulsa, OK, there was a CCW guy who carried in loaded and wanted to buy a holster. He removed his loaded pistol at the holster table and while clearing it, the damn thing went off. I don't know any more about the circumstances but it was definitely an undesirable discharge, unwanted discharge, accidental discharge or what ever you want to call it.
If you absolutely refuse to patronize a gun show only because they won't allow you to carry a LOADED firearm into the gun show, and you refuse to clear it prior to entering the show, I believe that the promoters will probably not really miss YOUR admission money.
Hey, rules are rules and they have that particular rule probably due to some very strong insurance requirements. Sorry you feel that way and will certainly miss seeing you at the gun show.
Mick-Boy
09-02-2011, 14:54
Again, I'm not saying it makes a big difference.
My perspective is that an organization that claims to support the 2nd as long as no one has a loaded gun at their event (again, hypocrisy bothers me) shouldn't be supported.
And a concealed weapon isn't much good if it isn't LOADED. ;)

Well, we are not allowed to carry into many Federal offices/properties but we still pay our taxes to support those facilities.[Tooth]
Also can't carry on planes or trains but our taxes still support them. If we want to fly, we have to comply with their rules and the TSA is there to make certain the passengers are in compliance. Would be some mighty long tiring trips via motor highway vehicle if we decide not to patronize the commercial carriers because of their firearms regulations. Yes, these are totally different situations but still are similar..IMHO

Right on there alxone. Between your tables and mine, we should have a real assortment of stuff that should be of interest to a lot of our fellow shooters/hunters/collectors...... I should have a full table of shooting/reloading related stuff. I may even consider taking some SILVER bars in on trades/deals. [Beer]
dont forget this weekend , co springs show . lisa , bob and myself will have tables set up so come on down and say hello .

Look for Lisa and me under the Fondis Firearms banner. We can actually put it up high, now so it's easier to see!

I believe you will easily recognize Alex's tables if he still has some of those great military surplus items and other such stuff on his tables. I'm pretty sure Lisa will have the Fondis Firearms banner on/above her table. She's a nice lady so be sure to stop by her space.
I almost always display a little (like the size of a half a sheet of printer paper) plastic sign with the name "Blaster" on it and I expect to have a single table within a stones throw of Alex.
Just watch for a table full of "quality" crap at outstanding prices and you have located my table. [ROFL1][ROFL3]
Hope to see you there and don't forget to arrive early to possibly pick up some good bargains.
Oops, looks like ole Tweety Bird posted his, directly above, while I was still typing this post.

Went on Saturday with my girlfriend and had a great time. My only regret was passing up a remington 700P for $495!! Now I wish I would have gone back today and picked it up.

Where was the 700P, id on’t remember seeing it. I went back today and picked up a Savage 110 .270 for $200. Kicker is that it’s but ugly. Some tried to do a camo pattern on her and messed her up good. I’ll be posting pics later because I need to get the crappy spray paint of her.

Im trying to remember the name, so that I can call him and see if he still has it. They were located in the back, on the right side and had a tan ACR and a Hk 556.
Thanks..

I had a great weekend visiting with folks and sharing some interesting stories with Alex and his Lady. Great weekend but just wish I could have sold enough stuff to pay for the dang table. [BooHoo]

Bob, where was your table at?
My table was located directly behind Alex's tables. Was in the same island. Too bad you didn't stop by mine as I was attempting to just "give" stuff away on Sunday.[ROFL2]
Well ALMOST give stuff away according to the way I felt about the show in general.[Tooth]
I did manage to remember to place my little "BLASTER BOB" sign on my table. Hey, maybe next time.
