If you're talking about AR-15 uppers I'm 99% sure you can't.

You sure can Alex, as long as it came off another SIG556.
As of yet no other calibers have been done for the 556 that I am aware of and it doesn't have the modularity of the AR.

No, AR uppers will not fit a 556.

I would go handle a few 556's before you went out and bought one. A friend of mine recently got a 556, its the biggest abortion I have ever held in my life. Its a front heavy pig due to the piston design and the sidefolding stock helps in NO way to balance it out.

The trigger was one of the worst I have ever felt also, there is no reset to it, it utilizes a "plunger" it looks like and feels a few pounds heavier than an AR trigger.

Its an expensive rifle, he never held one before, he bought it cause "It looks cool". I think hes kickin himself now

I've heard the exact same thing from people I know who have the 556, they say it's way too front heavy, which makes quick reaction drills that much more cumbersome. Funny, because my POF 415 is a piston system and it's nicely balanced (although a tad heavier than the Knights AR my friend has- but I think it's because he has some ultra light weight rails on it).

+1 on the above. I picked one up when they first came out and my sentiments are the same-heavy nose-fugly-crapola trigger. It was accurate and shot well, just a pig though.

I couldnt imagine having one of those things slung for extended periods of time. The worst part about him spending 2k +, is he bought it to be a "One upper"...the first thing he asks when he hands it to me (and after he collapses the stock) is, "Is it shorter than your SBR?" WOW![ROFL3]

If I was gonna "One up" someone (and its not my "style") I sure as hell would be sure to buy something worth a shit.

I couldnt see taking any precision shots with that garbage trigger not to mention support the weight of the rifle, that happens to be in the front end. He is a LEO and got it the day before he had to qualify, he took it in to qualify without having fired a single shot through it....needless to say he failed.
