At first sight I thought the OP of this thread really has some big balls and a total lack of class.
Then I thought... hmmm. I know what I do to try to be a good moderator, and I know some of what the other moderators on this site have been doing before and since I joined the site, but let's hear from the membership to see what qualities THEY (that would be you folks reading this) think a "good moderator" should possess.
Jerry, you gonna hog all that popcorn or do you plan on passing some of it over to me? I'm still not sure if this show is gonna be a comedy, drama, documentary, mystery, western, or sci-fi but I suspect it'll be entertaining.
Hey spleify - if you join us, could you bring me some Mike & Ike's from the concession stand?
Kinda wondering the same thing. Noticed a new moderator...only 60 posts and a member for only a month or so. That seems mighty fast...gaining all that status and bling that goes with the job.
Oh yeah - 'cuz you all know what that "status and bling" has done for me. (You folks crack me up.)

Not blowing smoke here, but mods are one of the seasons I like this site..
Main thing I dont like is when mods feel like they own the world.. Let us talk, dont interfere (unless it gets crazy, but I've really never seen a situation where mods were really needed)..
But yeah, just be fair.. There is a perfect amount of making people follow the rules here. Mods make these sites... Ask glocktalk...

Honestly on the interwebs you guys are hall monitors.. no one likes you.. but we pretend to. You keep us from smoking in the bathroom, from sneaking under the staircase to get your first feel of a boob..from stuffing n00bs into trashcans/lockers. Basically, we all hate you. (yes i'm being facetious) You walk around with your silly little orange 'moderator' sash, and think that you demand respect... well you just wait.. cause I'm gonna find you off school grounds and then it's ON!

This is a good board, I'm active on another board with excellent mods too.
I couldn't tell you what makes a good moderator or well moderated board but I've been on enough boards to know it when I see it.

some are fair, honest, patient and hardworking.
others are tired, impatient, pig headed and angry.
and a few are just plain insane.

well when you guys start wearing pink spandex while handing out anti gun literature at the range , you will go from good mods to at least really frikin funny mods [ROFL1] .
What makes a good Mod? The same things that make a good parent...
Knowing when to lay down the law, and when to let the children play.
Knowing when to warn someone off of doing something stupid, and when to let them learn from their mistakes.
Knowing when to punish, when the threat of punishment is ignored.
Oh yeah, it helps to be a Grammar Nazi too....[LOL]
Our mods here pretty much have it dialed...except for the Grammar Nazi thing...

Don't censor the shit out of everything, even if its offensive.
