and talk about a bunch of granola eating gun shy hippies [Mad] I sure do miss having half a dozen ranges within 15 minutes of my house. Been making due out in the national forest but it just isn't that much fun shooting 75 yards into a hillside when I'm used to 100-300 yard ranges on weekends and 500 yard ranges as a special treat. Hope I can find a few other people out in Boulder that like to do some 300-500y shooting as it seems the ranges are all a ways away.

For those that care, I'm shooting my plinker bolt-action 17HMR and a soon to be benchrest queen AR (Bushmaster Varminter w/ 24" barrel in 5.56).

You're like the only person to move to Colorado and miss the gun culture of the place you moved out of.

Boulder? Thurs yer problem!
Nothin but a bunch of granola-crunching, nature-watching, pot-smoking, Obama-supporting libtards.
Other than Boulder, Denver, and Colorado Springs (and surrounding areas), its the best state in the country.
We don't have nearly as much mud out here as GA does though.

You aren't too far from the Pawnee Grasslands, bet you'd enjoy it out there.

You moved to Boulder...whaddya expect? Other than maybe the range thing, there can't be any compelling reason to like GA over CO.

But welcome to the forum!

To everyone else, thanks for the welcome. Look forward to hanging around and hopefully meeting a few people for some fun at a range.

I've beginning to notice. Thanks for the welcome!

Looks like I chose one of the small islands of Colorado that is vocally anti-gun *doh*

Just started reading about the Pawnee Grasslands. Definitely going to make a trip up there before it gets too cold to check it out. Big fan of the lack of brick hard red clay out here.

Welcome to the site.

We've had more places to shoot but it seems more and more are getting closed down due to the irresponsible nature of many shooters out there. It seems many folks (not our membership though!) see no problem with bringing in every appliance known to man, shooting it up and leaving it all when they leave - which is after they've taken a turn at trying to push back the hordes of aggressive attack trees by cutting them down with magazines of ammo.

You'll find a few threads on this site about our efforts to re-educate fellow shooters and about our range clean-up efforts. We all try to follow the policy of taking out MORE than we brought in.

Plenty of good BBQ near Boulder (Nordy's and Serious Texas BBQ in Loveland) and you can boil your own damned peanuts.

What else ya got?

Guilty as charged. With school back in session I have found myself walking into streetlights as I walk to work [ROFL2]

I've noticed the attempts at culling the killer attack trees west of Jamestown. Went out last Saturday and saw some guys blasting away at a felled tree with their dinky handguns. At least it was an already dead tree.

I'll add Serious Texas BBQ to the list of sights to visit on the way to the Pawnee National Grassland. Look forward finally shooting on something flat.
