Yeah they need this on America's Dumbest. They had to abandon them.

I gotta wonder if they didn't suck water into the motors.
A friend of mine's wife cratered the motor on a BMW Z3 going through a flooded street (she didn't think it was that deep).

What were they thinking. I am glad they showed up to help but you have to realize what the limitations of your equipment are.

They pulled out video equipment from the rear vehicle. Not sure what kind of vehicles they were. Definitely not HUMMWV's!

Well, even though they eventually quit that was pretty impressive those trucks went that long. I gotta believe that's way beyond their design parameters.

They are LMTV/MTVs. If you look at the black thing on the drivers side between the cab and covered back, that is the intake.
To be completely honest, maybe a foot less and they would have been fine.

I think the fording depth is about 60" on some of these.

They look like LMTV's to me. They are actually pretty durable. I liked them a lot when I was on active duty.

I like when he says "How do they do that?" and the other guy says "Army bro".
Said they were New 5 ton models.
I just cant understand how they could see where they were going lol
That is really the only information that is missing...I'm impressed they managed to navigate an underpass while completely submerged in zero visibility water, though...

Probably a case of "I hope this gets better in the next few feet!", that didn't.

The conversation in those trucks had to be classic.[ROFL1]
Here's my theory on what happened. The flood hit, the troops decided to wait it out, thinking the water wouldn't get that high. The waters continued to rise, so with really no where to go- or orders to stay put- they waited. Waters got high enough that they decided to try and di di ma outta there, thus the vid.
I happen to know that the LMTV is a robust and very durable vehicle. They got balls to try and drive in that deep of water though... the most I've even driven through was a river that came up to just above the dash, and LMTVs are not short trucks.
