So I called Arvada police. Its vandalized and things stolen. So its been an hour and a half with no one showing up. Called dispatch he said they will get around to it verbatim. Everyone says imagine a world without cops I say imagine a world with cops who did their fucking job instead of filling quotas. Btw if a cop shows up do I have to tell him I'm carrying?
If the burglary isn't in progress, the call will not be a priority. At this point, if Arvada has an on line reporting system, you may as well use it. The report number will be useful for your insurance company. You do have insurance right?
I'm sorry you were victimized by someone who believed their need was greater than your right to be secure in your belongings. I hope you will recover quickly from your loss.
The police will never end crime. It is not likely anyone will ever be prosecuted for the crime. Hopefully, it will help the detectives identify some suspects and assist the cops in either driving the criminals into another jurisdiction or establish a pattern that will help catch them during a future crime.
Criminals suck. [Rant1]

Much agreed. Insurance check. Just a different feeling when its your house not the others you hear about. I'm over it just pissed. Criminals suck indeed and thanks for kind words
No, you don't have to inform them if you're carry.... but if they ask, don't lie. I'm sorry your house was broken into... No respect.... Hopefully the true valuables were in a safe. Let us know if we can do anything for ya.

Really sorry to hear that man. There is nothing worse than a fucking coward thief. I hope they find him. Actually I hope he wrecks his car on the way out of your house and loses use of his legs and he has to learn to cope with life from here on out.
Or maybe a spinal cord injury and he has to live with the humiliation of his mother wiping his ass and the humiliation that goes along with that.
Again Im sorry for your loss and violation of security at your home

Im not tryin to come across like a jerk at all. I like all of you guys...
But whether it was a tangible oblect or not, You cant replace the feeling of safety in your own home.
Someone told me that a long time ago, "When someone comes into your home, its like "Rape" of your security.
That cant be replaced. But you CAN do things to prevent it, cameras, IMHO, are the best thing you can do. Or an Ipod touch with a laptop and webcam left on
I've got a dollar that says if you told the police when you called that your house had been broken into and that you weren't sure if the burglars were still in there and that you were armed they would have been there in about 20 minutes.... thirty, tops. [Coffee]

I know, which is why I quoted you - I just added my two cents.
Just to be clear, by "too difficult to replace," I meant iron; that adds a whole new level.

I even gave them video survailence of the fucker and yet the fuck tard detective won't do shit!! Unless something is happening to you at that very moment, police just say "oh well we tried"....such fucking bullshit!!
Trent sorry about your loss. To bad they didn't try breaking in when I came by yesterday...

Guys, lets not let this turn into a cop bashing thread. The criminal broke into the OP's home, not the police.

Danger, if only this.world was that fair. All that got taken was a plasma tv and my ipod. Just things that don't mean much in the grand scheme. It does suck and I wish it on no decent people. Thanks guys for everything. Cops just took pictures nothing will come of it. Total wait 2hrs 13min. Opie , damn right brother coulda had some real justice. Damn the timing.
To sum it up, fuck thieves.
Damn, sorry to hear this Trent. I am however relieved to hear that a bunch of guns walked out on ya.

I'm not bashing anyone. Only speaking from experience...that's all[Swim]
I wasn't bashing the cops either. Just pointing out the fact that if you really want them there soon there are certain things you could tell them that would bring a quicker response time. Not that I condone lying to the authorities. It's just kind of like when your wife asks if what she is wearing looks good on her and you do the "little white lie" thing.[Coffee]

no need to bash them, they do enough damage to themselves on their own. [Flower]

Ya buddy. I just didnt want to come across like what you were sayin was wrong in any way. I appreciate you opinion. Words on a screen can get misconstrued pretty easily. Just makin sure.
Thanks for bein cool

What it means is that no matter what the OP was he has to get his two cents in. Anytime the thread even remotely turns to something a LEO or staff or dispatching might have dropped the ball on in any way, shape or form he is on it.
Trying to not draw the ire of the Mods but still making his point very clear. Just my two cents on the subject.
Sorry for your loss LoneStar. Having your home invaded is no fun. Only had it happen once and it was very heartbreaking. You did say that they took your Plasma? Did not one of the neighbors see anything? I know I have one that used to call and go " your cat just jumped out of the window 30 seconds ago"
I would go talk to them and see if they saw anything.

Thanks man. I dont know about that, I just know how I would feel, or hoow I felt when my stuff got stolen.
I was in a home invasion when 2 black kids came in an robbed us pretty good. I was pretty pissed.
Thanks for the kind words. Offer still stands if you change your mind

Get let down by a detective with plenty of evidence enough times and you'll start to understand. It only took me once.
Sorry to hear about that. Hopefully insurance covers things quickly and life gets back to normal.
I hope the thieves get what's coming to them when they try to sell your stuff for drug money.
F***ing bastards, I would love just LOVE to catch one and break out my game shears on his ass and start popping digits off. Sorry about your place man.

Hate to hear that my man, hopefully it all works out for you.
God help the poor SOB that tries that at my house, if they get through my wife and I, they will deal with my 11 YO daughter!
Best of luck with all that! [M2]
Late arrival here, but damn I know what it's like... I had my motorcycle stolen years ago from my apartment parking lot in Arvada- took Arvada PD about 25min to show up (after calling dispatch asking if it could have been towed). Parker PD recovered it about 2 weeks later destroyed out SE of Buckley in the middle of nowhere! Needless to say, I feel the same way, thieves suck! I really wish I had been home when it happened, I would have gone out and said "Step away from the bike or my Glock will make you wish you had!"
