Not sure if this is in the right section or not, but I am turning 21 very soon and will be taking a ccw class at the silver bullet shooting range. Any advise from anyone experienced in this that i can do to prepare or will the class teach me all i need to know? Also is this the best place to do this? I would like as much professional instruction I can get. (Class time as well as shooting time). Thanks.

Does that class include range time? How experienced of a shooter are you? Those would be my questions on deciding what class to take.

I'm a pretty experienced shooter, and started at a young age, so I took a bare-bones class which really just covered laws and drives home how big of a responsibility it is to carry.

I'm with Dub on this, it's one of those things of make sure you do it right. Some classes are dirt cheap and only cover the basics to get your CCW, whereas others encompass the law, your responsibilities, ramifications, scenarios, and the greats will have actual trigger time to make sure you're at least proficient. I got delayed because of work and moving in getting my NRA instructor cert, otherwise I'd gladly give you a discount for my class. There are some really good ones out there- personally, just because he's a friend, I'd ask and see if Eric over at BluCore does CCW yet (haven't seen him in a few weeks and never thought to ask since I have mine already). He's a great teacher and all around good guy- former Navy ST6 member.

I looked into that at all but opted to do a CCW class through Colorado Handgun Safety. There wasn't range time in the class and it moved at a decent speed.

I don't regret taking the class however, I do regret not taking a class with range time. Now I'm looking at taking another ccw class with range time included or looking at taking a handgun class because I decided to go the cheaper route. I could probably practice myself at home but I don't want to grow any (more) bad habits.

Pick a good CCW class.

Edit: I took the class last week.
