So I see a lot of people having eratic ejections, FTE etc with gen 4 17's and 19's mainly. Anyone have one that has the problem? I want one to see whats going on. All my gen 4's have been trouble free. And of course when you ask an arm chair expert if they tried something they get all up set and say that wouldnt help, wish one of mine would have acted up. Maybe my Glock 26 will do it?

The only problem i've had with my Gen 4 G19 was the slide not locking back after the last shot - but that was only when using some cheapo KCI mags. Haven't had an issue with the standard glock mags (same ammo), but 2 or 3 times the slide won't lock back on the last shot with the KCI's.

First mfg Gen 4's had recoil spring issues. Should be able to find multiple threads about it on Glock Talk. The issue has since been corrected.

No I guess more people are still having issues and the late model (still produced) gen 3/RTF's are exibiting issues also. They are blaming extractors now [Stooge]

I bought one of the first gen 4 Glock 17's available at Neves with no numbers on the recoil spring and it never had any issues. I am just curious if anyone local has had issues or if its all internet/user/ammo what ever problems. Most of the guys saying they have issues are useing WWB/FED/AE etc, I have trouble with WWB in any gun I try it in.

I've been researching the same thing all morning as I am interested in buying a gen4 Glock 19. Read on Glock talk that it was more so with the 17 than the 19 but I am still digging for more info. Updates also appreciated...

What is an eratic ejection? Sounds like a personal problem. [ROFL1]

It was all I could do to make that an A [ROFL1] They are saying the 19 also? I know a couple guys local that bought 19's and never complained about it? I guess I dont care where the brass falls as long as it exits the gun and goes somewhere? I did see one guy with a 26 complaining about it also so I had to go pay $50 for 2 boxes of shells and range time to make sure my new one ran fine today and sure enough not one problem, I only ran 111 rds though it and hate the sub compact but it didnt have any problems.

My new gen 4 26 does have the "dip" extractor they are saying is to blame?

EDIT: Hell come to think of it wouldnt it be really nice if it would shoot the brass straight up in front of you so it would land in your shooting bag while at the indoor range? No more bending over picking up brass [Pepsi]

Isn't that what significant others are for? I think you're doing it wrong. [Beer]

I have about 800rds thru my Gen 4 G19 all WWB and have only had 2 stovepipes. The first one happened in the first couple mags ran thru it and the second around 500rds. So far I'm pleased with it! Only complaint I have is I like the Gen 3 texturing better.

Gen4 Glock 19 "Ejectulation issues"

Interesting video and it's not even X rated either! [Tooth]

Humm.... maybe I should just stick to the big stick and get G21SF.

It appears on the 19's that polishing the extractor fixes the issue.

I actually prefer the RTF for all around, IWB daily CCW, comp, plinking, but I like the gen 4 texture also. I think he is just to "soft" [ROFL1]

My G19 Gen4 has absolutely no issues at all when I was shooting it.

I like Gen4 better because:
- Bigger mag release. That was the one of the biggest reason that I went w/Gen4 over Gen3.
-I like the Gen4 grip over Gen3 or Gen3RTF2.
-Backstrap interchange is may be another plus, but I am using standard size (i believe M).

Thanks and I will probably end up picking one up anyway. This is technically for my Aunt who is 60+ lives alone and I just want to make sure it is 100% before she gets it. Guess I'll just have to break it in and put it through it's paces before she gets it. Found a new one for $525 and thought that was a pretty good deal from what I've seen online anyway.

This was just release from Glock today... a recall about Gen4 recoil springs. Very simple fix for the few of you Gen4'ers that were having problems. Especially the 9mm owners.

Haven't had a single issue with my early Gen4 17. Also had a Gen4 22 for a while and had no problem in the approx 500 rounds I put through it.

I have a Gen4 G17 that is about a month old. One FTE stovepipe failure with S&B Police 115gr in about ~350 rounds of shooting, after putting 200 mixed AE 115gr, PMC 115gr and PMC 124gr through it.

Glock is sending me an updated spring as part of the recall, but it hasn't arrived yet.

It definitely was tossing more brass into my face (compared to a Gen3 I was borrowing) when I first started shooting it, but the S&B seems to eject more forcefully and toss brass over my right shoulder. I've read it's CIP spec and not SAAMI spec, but there are no obvious markings from what I remember. Their website indicates 594J of energy for the "Police" rounds, versus 533J for the normal 115gr 9mm rounds.

Wow! I have never heard of a Glock having any kind of problems. I'm glad I bought a Gen3 when I did.

I have a Gen4, G22, shooting both .357 Sig and .40 S&W. Never had a problem with either. I received the new recoil spring assembly last week, replaced the old one and sent it back to Glock on their dime. I have only fired it once with the new spring and didn't notice any difference.

I like the gun. It is full size, so I don't carry it everyday.

Now if I can just find a sub 2000 in .40 S&W, around $250, I will have the complete 1-150 yard set up [Coffee]
