Hey there, I've been trying to collect 3-gun equipment for a while now, and I have now come to the world of shotgun accessories, namely shell caddies.
Do you guys have some good brands/products that you guys run? Any manufacturers I should turn towards?
I've been looking at the 4x4 caddies from AP custom products so far, and they've seemed to be the best/most cost effective product i've found (in my eyes).
I'm open to suggestions, so post away.
Anything helps.
thanks,
Kenny
Come on out to the CRCPS MG match October 1 and try some out. With the regulars, there will be some of almost everykind. Some guys who are really good at wekhand loading can't get that second inside stack on the AP4s, others can.
The TWinS caddies from Carbon Arms are fast and easy to learn and even made right here in Colorado!
California Competition Works makes great caddies. I have four 4-shell carriers and two 6-shell. That setup got me through a lot of matches in California but I only have two or three on my belt for the one I shoot here. You can google it to see who's got them but I know Brownell's carries them.
Otto and California Competition Gun Works are pretty much the norm.

+1 for trying before you buy. Mark Ottos are solid and a good value and tech locks make mounting easy and versatile. Cali Comps are OK and half the price, but they move around a lot on the belt. The 4X4s are cool, but not the answer to all stage circumstances. They are uncomfortable to go prone on and they need to be spaced out a bit to get to that second row. Mountain Man's are an industry favorite, but most people choke on the price. Carbon Arms S (belt) model are cool and easy to learn. I'll be getting one soon to play around with. Everyone has thier own favorite way to set up. I saw a guy at RM3G with a $500 chest rig and a belt with 6 Mark Ottos. That's nearly $800 just in shot shell caddies. Deep pockets I guess. My personal favorite is Mark Otto. Very well made and they work just as well. Best mounting feature, most versatile and middle of the road on cost. 2 cents, 2 cents.
I'm running a mix of California Comp Works and Choate carriers , all 6's .
