I was expecting this on a flag pole outside, but it looks like it was on an interior wall. It also looks like the flag could have been put at half mast, why this early I don't know. But once somebody pointed it out, it was fixed.

There are a helluva lot of people that don't know the flag code.

Kudos to the principal for resolving it right away.

Really no comment beyond that. But I agree with Ridge...too many people don't know how to treat the American flag properly.

Agree- I believe this was an innocent mistake except for one thing. I don't understand what the hell a Saudi flag is doing in a grade school or for that matter any US school- period. I'll bet dollars to doughnuts you'll never see an American flag anywhere in any Saudi school. [Marine]

Easy fix. Fly only the U.S. flag in our schools. Display other flags for educational purposes, but never "fly" them. On a side note, I wonder if this school says the Pledge of Allegiance on a daily basis.....

No they dont, my son went there 1 year. His school now leaves it up to the individual teacher, all his teachers seem to do it [Beer]

He explained that other flags are posted around the school to recognize the nationalities of students from other countries.

I think this is why the flag was there in the first place. Even I don't have a problem with recognizing the heritage of others. No need to respect that heritage or pay homage to it, but recognizing it is OK.

Most Americans don't even know that there is a code to follow when displaying the flag.

Well it stated why. Just because people in other nations are ignorant and and stupid (not refering to you) doesn't mean that we have to be.

I dont believe any other countries flag should be allowed to fly of hang especially in a school/public building of any sort. If you are from another country and are more proud of your home land then go home! This is the stuff that leads to banning American flag shirts [Rant1]

It is people having extreme reactions like the one you kinda just had that is the problem on both sides of the fence. Not enough people are level headed and think things through. They just react and let the chips fall where they do when the dust settles. Calm down there killer, nothing bad was going on at all, period, and making a big deal out of something so stupid just makes things worse.

Seems more like a total non-story meant to infuriate people for no damn good reason. Keep people fighting with one another when we are on the same side. Keep us from paying attention to the GIANT ass pounding we are getting from the GOV and "Big Business" and paying attention to stupid crap that was resolved the same flippin day. [Rant2]

You're right hell I should be happy that my tax dollars are paying for saudi/somali/mexican flags and so on. But my son is German so I am gonna ask them to hang a German flag also.

Here it is for those who need to brush-up on what's right or wrong. It's worth reading even if you think you know everything. After reading it, take a good look at flags and how many are being flown or displayed incorrectly, Unfortunately, none of the code can be enforced. Properly flying our nation's flag incorrectly really pi***es me off, and I've let a lot of people know it over the years.
Later,
Dave

incorrect flag etiquette really pisses me off too. But seeing how it was fixed basically as soon as it was pointed out... big deep breath; it's going to be okay. America and patriotism are still alive
