Has anyone ever carried into Coors field? or is it not allowed. My Son got
some free tickets for tonight and was wondering if anyone has carried there.

Last time I was there, there were signs saying no weapons allowed. That was before the current law however. Karl.

Last time I was there, they had wand type metal detectors at the turnstyles. I'm not sure how they were deciding to pick lucky winners for the privilege, but I didn't have any problems with my Kel-Tec P3AT in my front pocket. Then again I made it into Invesco the same way with their pat-down searches. Pepsi center has metal detectors in place.

I remember going to a pre-screening of The Phantom of the Opera (suxed, IMHO btw)

they had people wanding everyone entering the theater.. I had my 1911 on my side and they didn't even blink an eye!

I worked security at one of those pre-screens for Fantastic Four.

All we were told to care about was video recording devices.

Hey 7idl, did they detect your 1911 and turned a blind eye or did they not even detect it?

I believe (although not 100%) that Coors Field and Invesco Field would be treated differently than the Pepsi Center.

How I read the law is they can only ban CCW in PUBLIC buildings/areas if all people going in are subjected to electronic screening. Private buisnesses/buildings can do as they wish.

I believe that Coors Field and Invseco are owned by the City of Denver thereby making them publically owned, whereas the Pepsi Center is owned by a private firm.

Now that said, the Denver Zoo is public, howvere they claim no firearms are allowed.

You can carry at the Denver Zoo ask to see their policy they do allow conceal carry with a permit. Also any building with any security metal detectors that specifically are there to check for weapons conceal carry is NOT allowed. Other than that if it is a public building and there is no sign at the entrance saying No Firearms you CAN conceal carry.

I've carried there within the last season. They have a no weapons policy, but of course concealed means concealed in my eyes. Signs don't mean much in the state, but ymmv.

I have however noticed at certain gates they have wands. I've been to plenty of games and never had it happen, but they are there. That could be an uncomfortable sitation should they choose to wand you.

I've also been asked to open my jacket a few times when going to games in early spring/fall. However they never asked me to lift my shirt so no biggies there.

I usually drink at games so I've only carried a few times, but that has been my observations.

I thought the gate attendants only checked bags and backpacks. :D

Wow, back from the dead!

I've carried there on several occasions as well. No issues.
