This is not for carry, not for training classes, not for making the Gaston jealous, not for pimping, not for any reason other than I wanted one. Truth is I'm pretty much a dork, taking a new gun apart and learning the mechanical interactions is more fun than the first trip to the range.

Mil-Spec model, came with two mags and both black rubber and "wood" grips. I wanted an unprentious example of the design and Sportsmans's had one. Oh, that lot of 45 ammo I was trying to sell a while back - nevermind, it now has a use

Very purty, congrats.

LOL, I'm sure Gaston has quite a few 1911's anyway (including everything else).

SW is somewhere in the middle of 500, I had a basket full of other stuff and the receipt isn't with me at the moment. IIRC the very basic GI model was less than 500, and is more likely to be found in stock.

WW - someday, you don't want to know how often I drive past the Global Trades place in Houston, but have never stopped in to get a flat.

Tom - I'll have to bloody up my hand first, then make the change. Always have to learn the hard way.

Nothing fixes a rainy Friday like buying a new gun.

I second that Sweeeet! It looks just like mine. I had night sights put on mine and I love to shoot it. Great gun! [usa]

Wallary,

What kind of night sights did you get? Did you have to dovetail the slide for the front sight?

Wallary,

WilliamWilliam, Yes I think they had to dove tail the front sight. I took it to the gunroom in lakewood and the guy there did it for me pretty cheap about $100.00 for the Tritium Nightsights and $45.00 for insulation. This is really funny. The first time I took it out of town with me I set it on the night stand by the bed and woke up every hour or so and pointed it at the door. LOL! I remember saying go ahead make my day! lol! [roll]
