I have limited experience with the AR platform and only have experience with PMags but at $10-$11 shipped a piece (on sale) they're definitely hard to beat.

I'm definitely open to better options if they're out there though.

They just look like pmags with a different brand name to me, but for 11 dollars, I'll have to try some out. Someone should ask bowers if they would entertain carrying them.

I really hope these things are the next great thing. From an end user perspective, the more companies out there making reliable, affordable magazines the better I like it. It keeps the prices down and doesn't let companies stagnate.

Incidentally Soldier, You have excellent taste in rifles. [Beer]

I could not find them for $11. I did find them for $12.50 on primary arms and ordered one.

I was stoked to see Troy trying to compete with Magpul, if only to drop prices. Then i saw this video!

Seems Troy needs to try harder.

I've heard some mixed things over these Troy mags, my guy down at Tri-Lakes Shooting Supply says they'e alright but still not as good as PMags..

Then my friend who's an Operator for Triple Canopy says F**K PMags and that hes now only using Troy...Saying the quality tests are bullshit cause no one is going to run over their mag with a truck lol.

Valid point...if I can find them at a good price..Ill try them.

I have had 3 of them for a bit over a year. They are "ok". They sometimes fail to hold bolt open after last shot, which my PMAGs never have an issue with. 1/3 did it from the beginning. The second started after a few hundred rounds through it. Number 3 is holding out strong and working well. Otherwise, they have been fine.

Would you say that they're still better than USGI Surplus mags?

Id put them better than the std USGI, but about the same but different as the improved USGI (with new type followers).

They are a good bit more durable than any USGI, but I haven't had any improved USGI mags (brownells tan follower) fail to hold open.

Hmm...Interesting...

I was looking at getting some of these, but my friend is going to sell me his USGI improved mags but cheap as fuck so...no worries hah

Has anyone tried the Tango Down ARC Mags?

I decided to try a couple tests myself, full 30 round load, Troy vs pmag. Both held up well to being dropped from magwell height to the bottom, and sides. The pmag spit out 2 rounds when dropped from magwell height to the feed lips. And the Troy spit out 6 rounds, and had a catastrophic failure to the feed lips. this was from my reload height, onto concrete. That was about as real world as it gets. So, other than the unrealistic run over with a full size truck, the Troy mags still don't holds up as well.
