I'm brand new here, and am a definite beginner. I've got this aimpoint, looking to sell, but have no clue what model it is. Any help? (offers?)
great condition, used one time

Thanks

Looks like the comp M2 aka M68 CCO

Take the rubber cover off so you can see the serial number. If it says M2 then its the M2.Its also gonna say 4moa if its the M2. If there is nothing then its the M68CCO. Its the miltary version. Let me guess, fell off a truck right?

Where is the other half of the mount? The mount thats on it is for an A2 upper, its the carry handle mount. It mounts in front of the carry handle making it an absolute co-witness

It looks like a cheap M2 knockoff to me, but maybe its just the pictures....

You can see the Aimpoint logo on the side. Check the serial number.

Also look at the battery.

It LOOKS real. Hard to tell from a pic though. Looks like my M68.

Mine is a real M68. Looks the same as my mount huh. There is only one place those mounts come from. But check the batteries anyway and how many settings it has.

The one on the left is the M68

here's a pic of the serial number (which i didn't see before), and the logo. also, there's a "screen" on the front of the optic that screws off.
what do you mean "there's only one place these mounts come from?".... military?

trades? since i'm just beginning at this... depends. right now i'm getting into 9's and 223's, i've got 1 eotech, and that's about it. if it's real, a good deal is what???? $400?

Ya thats an M2, (non military) version. The "Screen" is a Killflash or often reffered to as ARD.

Thats a nice optic man. It takes TWO of the "N" type batteries, not one like the M3. I have both and LOVE both of them.

Who called you a moron? You think we all just start out knowing about rifles?

^^[ROFL1]^^

yep, thats a real M2, sorry.

Some knockoffs have the aimpoint logo stamped into the scope body instead of etched, like real ones. It looked like the latter to me in the first picture.

oh well, maybe im just retarded. Go out and enjoy your optic!

Do you like the ARD? I have one, if youre shooting for precision it makes it harder. It blows out the dot IMO

ya, i've noticed the same thing. i like it for the lens protection value though.

Shed hunting? I have two sheds in my yard, but they are more of "Pets" than anything. I would never shoot my sheds. They hold all my girlfriends stuff [ROFL1]

Nope, that's the QRP mount, just doesn't have the spacer like you usually find with those.

Without the Aimpoint part number on there, I would say it's Military surplus.

The second battery option is a spare battery compartment.

Without the 9mm spacer, the optic centerline will be 5mm BELOW the iron sights on a flat top. Good luck finding a spacer. better off buying a used mount over at ARFCOM.

I'd say $400 is a little steep, It would be worth it it if was the Aimpoint Comp M4 or M4s. They use 1 AA battery and are a 2 MOA red dot, unlike the Comp M2- I can usually find those now for $200 used. You are also missing the spacer for the mount it will be hard to find one, and may have better luck finding a different mount to use.
