It looks even better in person, it's a good looking finish

for

her basically brand new S&W 442 .38spl +P Pro series with crimson trace laser plus from the factory set up for moonclips (yeah, it's cool)

They are both pretty cool and prices (with lasers) are relatively similar although the p238 with laser cost more. the P238 shoots REALLY NICE but the damn thing is too big to fit in this fat man's pocket. Plus, NOBODY makes a damn holster for the 238 with a laser (and yes, i could get one made, no big deal). The 442 is neatobandito and really light and of course fits anywhere.

What say ye?

take the smith. The sig is WAY TOO SMALL for a normal human (male type).

Smith! More stoping power and managable recoil for the Fems.

The wife LOVES her 238... but then she is a skinny Filipina...

whichever fits your hand.

She's your wife...do you really have a choice, assuming you want to sleep in your own bed? [LOL]

I see it as a reason to own his and hers 238's..

anytime there's a "reason" to buy a new gun, I'm all for it

What I find the most interesting is the fact that a big ol burly bear of a guy like you has the "Rainbow" Sig[Muaha] jk- a buddy of mine has one and he made synthetic Opal grips for it. Actually looks awesome.

As far as the swap- the old saw of "If mama aint happy, aint nobody happy" comes to mind............

I hate to see couples fighting. :( The only thing I see to make this deal end right is to give them both to me - I'll let you two come over to visit them once in a while.

Man I hate smith, and I (wife) owns a sig p238. Its too good of a gune to trade for a smith. Besides you can get some "Mazinbrand" Grips for it and really make it pop. I have a set of Purpleheart wood with a gloss finish that would look awesome with that slide. [Coffee]

....

funny enough we asked that same question at the gunshop yesterday and the guy said
a. he can't keep the rainbows in stock (they don't even hit the shelf) and
b. they have all been bought by guys.

id go with the smith even though i like the sig better . as neat as the sigs are they are just too dang small for my beat up hands . but they both look like great cc weapons .

I'd also go with the Smith, and I'm not even a revolver fan... I'm not a .380 fan, either- so it kinda is a wash in that regard.

the P238 is just too pretty to be a carry piece, and it sounds like you already think the 442 is better for CCW.

but ask her what she'll do to sweeten the deal [Coffee]

Mrs Byte carries a p238
http://www.sigsauer.com/upFiles/catalog/product/P238-Lady-Hero-Detail.jpg

I Swear if I didn't look like a fruit carrying it I would steal it from her.

with the extended finger magazine, it fits "nice", it honestly could be better.
but for the size/weight trade its great.

I've thought about one of these...

well

she said yes really quick
I should have asked for $200.

J frame without question. Better stopping power from a 38 special, and no chance of limp wristing the gun and having it fail to fire on follow up shots. If she's that crazy about the rainbow finish, you can probably find someone who can do it for you...

I am a 1911 guy so I would stick with the sig, I really like the p238 and the Colt mustang and pony.

My wife's carry pistol is a P238. The extended mags make the grip really comfortable. I got rid of her .357 Mag Ruger SPS101 for it.

Something to note, make sure she fully racks the slide. My wife has had a time or two when she worked the slide far enough to chamber a round, but not far enough. When she pulled the trigger it gave her a *click* that made it seem like there was a bad round in the chamber.
