View Full Version : Winter is coming!
well, duh you say!... :P
quick and easy project for your car(s):
get a small gym bag and put the following in it for "just in case"
1. blanket
2. winter worthy jacket
3. gloves
4. 2+ MREs
5. wool knit hat
6. water
7. granola bars
I didn't put in stuff like a first aid kit, flashlight and batteries because you should ALREADY have them in there.
you can get most of the stuff I mentioned pretty quick if you don't have spares lying around.. just go to the thrift store (goodwill's tend to sux around here)
make sure you wash and dry 'em first ;)
makes a nice "gift" for your SO... it'll show them how much you care
and I'm sure you'll be adding to this list...........
A couple of those little heater packets.. can't remember what their called, but they are a life saver too!
That's a good, basic list. A fire extinguisher is good to have handy, too.

we need the snow, doesn't mean i like it.
I am ready to move back to FL every time winter shows up here. I like colorado for the outdoors, and the guys i have met off this board or ar15 so far.
I LOVE the winters! I can't wait for some snow
I love Colorado winters. Snow is great in moderation. It's nice to get a foot of snow one day and then be able to wear shorts a week later. In the midwest once it snows it's there all year. The winters are cold as hell and nasty there.

Best thing about Colorado IMO. Snows like heck in the mountains. Snows in moderation on the front range. I can ski powder on Saturday and play nine holes on Sunday. What a country!

Here's a site I just discovered that sells not only survival gear but a little bit of everything it seems. Hmmm, interesting stuff...

After glancing at that site I'd stear clear of it. They seem to be peddling off junk to try to make people feel better. There are some really good sites that you can go to for serious gear if you look around a bit. Any site that considers 1 juice box full of water to be a day's worth of water doesn't take themselves seriously.

HA, yeah, I see your point on the water box. I thought that was a little strange, too. But maybe on the other side of the argument that solution would be good for the yuppies and trendies out there who have no conception of a survivalist mindset and/or taking care of themselves. It seems to me most yuppies won't take the time to store water in storage cans in their basements or go to similar "extremes" like that? But still I see your point...
