The New York Times published something positive about Sarah Palin (http://www.nytimes.com/2011/09/10/us/10iht-currents10.html?_r=4&adxnnl=1&adxnnlx=1315569719-RpR5AuX40tZqZl8xOiUg7g)!
[Coffee] Interesting read and I was surprised her statements aren't getting more attention in other places.

You must have hit the pay wall. Here's a snippet:
She made three interlocking points. First, that the United States is now governed by a “permanent political class,” drawn from both parties, that is increasingly cut off from the concerns of regular people. Second, that these Republicans and Democrats have allied with big business to mutual advantage to create what she called “corporate crony capitalism.” Third, that the real political divide in the United States may no longer be between friends and foes of Big Government, but between friends and foes of vast, remote, unaccountable institutions (both public and private).
In supporting her first point, about the permanent political class, she attacked both parties’ tendency to talk of spending cuts while spending more and more; to stoke public anxiety about a credit downgrade, but take a vacation anyway; to arrive in Washington of modest means and then somehow ride the gravy train to fabulous wealth. She observed that 7 of the 10 wealthiest counties in the United States happen to be suburbs of the nation’s capital.
Her second point, about money in politics, helped to explain the first. The permanent class stays in power because it positions itself between two deep troughs: the money spent by the government and the money spent by big companies to secure decisions from government that help them make more money.
“Do you want to know why nothing ever really gets done?” she said, referring to politicians. “It’s because there’s nothing in it for them. They’ve got a lot of mouths to feed — a lot of corporate lobbyists and a lot of special interests that are counting on them to keep the good times and the money rolling along.”
Because her party has agitated for the wholesale deregulation of money in politics and the unshackling of lobbyists, these will be heard in some quarters as sacrilegious words.
Ms. Palin’s third point was more striking still: in contrast to the sweeping paeans to capitalism and the free market delivered by the Republican presidential candidates whose ranks she has yet to join, she sought to make a distinction between good capitalists and bad ones. The good ones, in her telling, are those small businesses that take risks and sink and swim in the churning market; the bad ones are well-connected megacorporations that live off bailouts, dodge taxes and profit terrifically while creating no jobs.
Strangely, she was saying things that liberals might like, if not for Ms. Palin’s having said them.

I've argued for Palin right in this very forum where many parrot the left that Palin is an idiot.
They don't know why, mind you, they just repeat it. I can think of no other person who the left, and even many on the right, has tried to destroy with such vigor. For no apparent reason to boot.
Palin is a lot brighter and a lot deeper than most give her credit for.
I like her a lot and would support her run for the republican nomination in a heartbeat.

And she's hot. That's enough to get my vote.

you have to admit... her on stage presence could be better and she has said some silly shit

I Know she isn't as bad as the Dems would have us believe. I just couldn't get on board.
Sharpienads: agreed, I Do her

+1. I like her but just couldn't rally behind her for president. She is a fine looking woman though, that's for sure.
It amazes me that even even conservatives and libertarians denigrate Palin as an idiot. Yes, she has said some silly things, but show me someone who hasn't?
It is the same with Bush. All the cool kids love to call him an idiot. Really? While I can't stand what Obama is doing/wants to do to this country, I by no means think he is an idiot. You can't become the most powerful man in the world and be an idiot. Bush or Obama.
I like what Palin is saying, but I'm not sure with her reputation and the way the leftist media hates her she will ever be electable.

Sarah is actually quite intelligent, capitalistic, honest and patriotic. She says what she feels and if you like it, fine if not you can lump it.
This is the reason she is abhorred by the libs and media. She stands for everything they despise.
So what if she trips over her lip once in a while? We all have and it is what you do afterwards that counts. She can actually laugh at herself and move on, a nice quality.
Presidential material? Maybe, maybe not but I feel she is infinitely more qualified than what we have now.
And I feel she honestly has the best interest of the country in mind. Again, a refreshing change.
Some say she best serves doing just what she is doing now, keeping the left on the defensive and off balance.
Interesting to see how things pan out.

I agree. I liked Sarah before this just because she seemed more genuine than the typical pol. Now she's speaking serious truth and I like her more. Too bad most people won't be able to pull their heads out of their politics and see her as anything other than a ditz.

Exactly, she ran Alaska extremely well, instituted changes that made the people of Alaska money, did things that actually benefited her electorate. Yet people (including conservatives) echo the left's talking points about her and get hung up on the fact that she talks oddly- the same folks that are happy to ignore other gaffs like "visiting all 57 states". They also whine that she stepped down from her office, shirking her responsibility, without observing that with all the new (intense) scrutiny and attention she would not have been nearly as effective in her role- I suppose she could have simply voted "present" so to speak and stayed in office but I think she took the more noble route. I don't get it.
And she's hot.

Gov. Palin would make a better president than anyone out there right now.
