Just ordered a few AK mags from these guys tonight. Does anyone else have experience dealing with them, i.e. speed of order, customer service, communication, etc?

It's my first time dealing with them, I figure support the Colorado boys, ya know?

I've bought 3 or 4 AK kits from them. Their kits are great, they ship fast, never had a bad experience with them.

I have heard of some issues with mags that were listed as good condition being more like fair or poor- but that was secondhand info. They do try to make it right.

One of my preferred company's to deal with. They always did me right and did my special request.

Apex is great, I have only had good experiences with them. I call all my orders in so they literally know me by name. On the other hand I'm sure my wife hates them haha

I purchased a armorers kit from them about 6 mos ago via their website and it came very quickly and was in great shape. I'd use them again.

do these guys have a local store front? they are about 5 miles from my house according to the website

I would imagine not. they show a PO Box on-line.
proably cheaper prices by not having a store front.
if you live near, you could probably arrange a local pick-up.. just call 'em

(and then let us know for sure one way or another) mkaytnx :)

I've asked- they'll arrange to bring your purchases to a gun show that they're at, but they don't have a store front... and don't arrange for local pickup outside of fun shows...

That sucks, a place that close with that much cool stuff, and we can't go paw through their shit.....I really want a couple of bayonets for my K31's.

I was bummed when I found that out too. I wanted a set of original wood handguards for my Yugo M70 but don't want them all carved up and they only sell them by luck of the draw on what you get.

With apex if you call your order in they will do their best to give you what you request so if you call in and ask them if it's possible if they can send you an m70 hg set that isn't carved they will probably do that. I know with the romy kits they had people were getting the year they requested when it was possible.

Update: My magazines came in today. At least as good as they were described maybe better. Should get a chance to run them through some paces on Friday I think. Shipping was fast, even hand wrote me a note on the ticket as I'd mentioned using them on the AK customization for my site. Very happy so far.

Very cool! Those Yugo mags looked pretty nice from the pics on their site anyway. You also get you AIM surplus mags yet? Last batch I received from them had a couple with minor dents in a couple of them but nothing that didn't make the follower stick or anything and the rest were above average.

Haha, no I got sidetracked and forgot to order the AIM mags. When I found Apex I got psyched about a quality CO based business with this stuff and wanted to give them a shot first.

Agreed they are a great company to deal with. Most of their stuff it top quality but their selection of Yugo handguards are less than desirable. Glad there is place like Ironwood designs to get top quality furniture from.

BTW: Keep an eye out for the original Bulgarian "waffle" mags on the gun boards. They are my favorite and arguably the best AK mag made and if you can find them for under $25 each jump on them!

Thanks Alex, but I'll just order my own when I get around to it. I keep hoping someone will put one up for sale on one of the gun forums I hang at.

Yeah man JUST found out about them. I'm not a CO native ([Help]), only been here 2 years in fact and on the forum for less than one.

On a good note I DID get out and shoot the new mags today and they were flawless. Amazing what a few dollars invested in some euro surplus mags can do for your confidence in the overall piece.

Twitchyfinger thanks for the advice on the Bulgarian waffle mags. I'll keep a lookout for those too.

I thought I should mention that I have been adding more products to the APEX web site.
I also just dropped the price on the Polish grenade launching sets for AK rifles.
And for you travellers, myself, Jeff and Grant are heading to the Knob Creek Show/Shoot this week. I hope to see some of you come by our booth and say hello!
