From what I understand the age to apply for CCW is 21. I turn 21 in January and was wondering if my application could possibly get turned down because of my age despite the fact that I would be legally able to CCW.
What do you guys think?
I think that conflicts with the "Must Issue" rule.

We all know that rules, laws, etc exist but they are not always followed either by law enforcement or citizens.
Has there been any instances of age discrimination in the past?

If your 21 and can legally own a handgun then I dont see why it would matter. But post back here if you have any problems....
Edit to Add: I applied and received mine when I was 21.

First off rules are not law and law is not rules don't confuse the two. If you are 21 then they have to issue unless there is something your hiding or not telling us.

when i got mine you had to be 25. they let me submit my paperwork a month in advance so i would get my card right after my 25th birthday. this was 7 years ago and things are very different now. they would not let me take possesion of my permit before my 25th birthday.

I'm not hiding anything I'm simply asking if there has been any difficulty getting a CHL in Colorado despite being legally able to do so.

Have you not heard of instances where someone's legal rights are not upheld because of discrimination, personal vendetta's etc.?

Any denial's can be appealed
Judge: Sheriff Sheisskopf, you have denied Mr. Smith's application for a CHP. Why?
Sheriff: I denied it under Colorado's "naked man" exception.
Judge: And what basis did you use?
Sheriff: He's 21, Your Honor.
Judge: Let's see, he can enter into a contract. He can purchase a handgun. He can serve his country in the military. The law allows a CHP to be issued in emergencies to people as young as 18. With the right certification, Mr. Smith can be a Deputy and then could carry without a permit. I see you have hired several peace officers at his age. In theory, he can even run for Sheriff and yet, you won't issue a permit. Surely there is another reason, right?
Sheriff: No other reason, Your Honor.
Judge: Then it appears that you are the naked man here, Sheriff Scheisskopf. This court orders you to issue the permit.
Have you not heard of instances where someone's legal rights are not upheld because of discrimination, personal vendetta's etc.?
Can you cite some specific examples that happened locally within the past several years? I'd appreciate it.

None locally. I've had friends in Wyoming be denied motorcycle licenses because of age and I was simply wondering if there was any discrimination like that in Colorado concerning CHLs.
From the limited answers to my question I'm going to assume that there hasn't been.

Well if you're not old enough to get a certain type of license then then you're not old enough. If they were denied because of their age and they were legally old enough to get them then they could have fought it and won.
