Got a ticket with my brother to go to MNF against the Raiders last night and missed the 9/11 tribute because parking sucks near [Whatever sponsor of the year it is] Field at Mile High. But did catch an awesome display by the USMC Silent Drill Team, flipping M1s, doing precision marching, and other neat things. Really inspiring. Then Kyle Orton put on a real shit show and proved he doesn't really have a whole lot of passion for the game. Not to mention it just POURED on us and I was soaking wet all night. I would have rather we won and be soaking wet than a loss and have salt rubbed into the wound by being soaked.
First game at the new[ish] stadium. Had fun, but would rather have seen a win and see Orton hold onto the ball!

so lets break it down again:

orton throws for over 300 yds in the air, and puts up 30% of our rushing yards on his own and now its his fault we lost,

what a joke. he cannot win when the front line is letting every player on the other team have a shot at him, i think he was sacked five times last night, and hit at least 25

the front line cannot make a hole for a running back to save their lives. the running back combined for 25 yards on the ground. how is any quarterback expected to win with that kind of performance from the rest of the offense.

the broncos have a lot of issues in their team that are causing them to lose

Orton is not the reason they suck.

But it's so easy to blame the QB! I mean we have the 'awesomeness' of Tebow on the sidelines... /barf.

Orton is just a fine QB.. you give him protection and he does fine. Only way the O-line can protect him is by holding..and they did a FINE job of that last night...

What was the total penalty count last night? Probably more than the total offense from the donkies.

Last year it was the coaches fault, this year it's the QBs fault.. when are they going to learn that pointing fingers and blaming does no good.. they need to play AS a team.. Leave their egos in the locker room.

Elway running things seems to be working well... The broncos have never been a winning team.. at least not a superbowl winning team. They came together for 2 years and won rings.. but were shit before and shit after.. it had nothing to do with one man... It was the WHOLE team.

My thoughts exactly. Orton is not the problem.

All valid points, but the difference between Tebow and Orton is intensity and passion. I was more thinking he's not to blame due to his skills last night, but his passion and drive. Tebow will huddle up, call a play and grab Moreno by the facemask and say "I'm gonna feed you the ball, bust it out there and get a fuckin' first down!" Orton would be: "Curls out 25 on two... go."

Heart and passion are great but my money is on Orton to actually get the first down.

we lack running game
we lack a strong defense
we lack discipline.

There we WAY too many flags last night... and way too many were ours.
keep your head , stay focused on the task at hand.

Orton was a small percentage of the problems we had last night. Yes he made mistakes, but he wasn't solely responsible for the game.

He did fk a couple key plays. No, he's not the only problem, there were quite a few dropped passes that should have been caught, our line couldn't keep them out of the pocket, and tackling - had to be a group effort every fricken time.

But, if the broncos are going to lose anyway, and if tebo is ever going to be the future of the team, then they should just let him get the first ugly year out of the way.

That game wasn't nearly as close as the score indicated. Raiders couldve blown them out.

I hate losing to the raiders.

#3 Ofensive line, ain't one 6 some times 7 guys, can't block 4 defensive linemen. The Suck
#4 I bet on the Raiders and came out smelling good and fat in the wallet...

Orton is an above average QB.....

...between the 20's....

...when the game's not on the line....

...and we're already down a couple touchdowns. [Bang]

I think he could be an above average QB all the time if they weren't relying on his arm to gain every yard for the team.

the pressure our qbs have been under since davis got hurt is huge

we have relying on their talents for far too long, time to draft, trade for, or just plain kidnap a real running back.

Prolly a little early to say this, BUT, another good draft could really benefit the ponies. Who knows, an unlucky season could definitely land some "Luck"!

Hard to tell how good the recent draft was just yet, but I seem to feel they did OK and got much better value than McDaniel did in his drafts.

The job of the QB is not to just pass the ball and call plays. He has to be a leader and elevate the play of the rest of the team. I agree it is not all on Orton but he's not man enough to lead a winning team. When the line isn't blocking, he needs to get on their ass. When anyone isn't doing their job, he needs to let them know in a very firm way. When's the last time you saw him get in someone's face. Never. He is no leader.

It's not all on Orton but he is to big of a girl to ever lead a winning team. He is not going to elevate the play of anyone else on the team He brings them down to his level, which is not very good.

its like I am back in the Army...

LEAD THE MEN!! but you cannot discipline them, berate them or even fire them.
You have no say in whose on the team, you cannot even call the plays, you have no say in policy, practice or politics!

but your leadership will pull us through!

sticking Tebow into the same situation will only garner the same results.

its the Team...

not the individual member

Well, yeah. But any QB in the league and half out of the league could be above average with a great ground game and ample time in the pocket. The problem is there are always going to be pressure situtations where a QB has to take over. Orton, at this point in his career, can't do that.

Bronco's have had way too many bad drafts and have a knack for picking players that I don't think were adaquetly scounted. Moreno looked good on the surface, but if you watched him play in the SEC you know that if you could get a few good hits on him he'd dissappear and start taking himself out of the game.

No QB is going to take this team to the super bowl and, at this point, it'd take divine intervention to make the playoffs. But if we're going to lose, at least make it interesting and see if either QB on the roster is your long term solution. But they won't. Just look at their contracts. Bowlen's on the hook for orton regardless, quinns got a huge escalator if he starts and so does tebow.

Just my opinion.

Not a coach.

Had a 15 year dynasty on Madden '07 though.... [ROFL1]
