Anyone have any pro's or con's on the Kimber 10mm? Thank you

Given my experience with Kimbers I wouldn't give a wooden nickel for one in 45 ACP let alone 10mm.
Prime example- last night I worked on one (45) with very few rounds down the pipe that did not have the ejector retaining pin in place. Seriously? A $1K pistol and the factory can't put in a .02 roll pin?
You want a 1911 in 10mm? Colt Delta or Delta Elite.

I usually replace the MIM parts, didn't Colts have a problem with cracking?

The first "generation" of Colts were prone to cracking right above the slide stop hole. Later models had the material above the hole removed and the cracking ceased. Colts were usually under sprung on the recoil spring and a pound or two heavier spring helps. I also pull off a couple little tweaks that help as well. IIRC one of the reasons Colt made the 10mm in stainless (Delta Elite) is they discovered that the stainless is less prone to cracking like the carbon steel frames are. IIRC the all carbon steel models were discontinued after a couple of years.

Thanks again
Is 10mm a more readily available round these days? A 40sw would be a more plentiful round and is about the some speed as the 10mm. Just slower.

But the 10mm is way cooler. And I haven't shot 40cal since 1997
DW makes a better 10mm than Kimber or Colt IMO. There's always Fusion if you're willing to drop a little more coin down the line.

If you can really spend the bucks, Nighthawk produces a 10mm!
I have a new Kimber 10 with about 300 rds. through it. So far so good.

Yep...I had a Kimber 10mm several years ago. I didn't shoot it a lot...maybe 500 rds. But I traded it to a friend who's fired probably in excess of 5k through it. He'd likely sell his kid before he'd sell that Kimber.
Bert just gots to be hatin' on Kimber... [Stooge]
