I haven't owned many guns throughout my life, but the bug has bit me as of recently. I'm a noob when it comes to anything but modern handguns. I'm a huge fan of the s&w m&p lineup and prefer 9mm or .45. I'm looking to get into med distance shooting(400-500 yds). I'm reading about 2 hrs a day and haven't even decided on caliber yet. Im on quite a few 4x4 forums and know better than to ask before searching. Hope to see some of you at the range some day.

Welcome and enjoy![Beer]
.308/7.62X51 NATO is a nice predictable round to start with for hitting paper at 300 to 400 yards... and then beyond.

Welcome.
I hope the "chef" thing is legit and you're going to share some great recipes/cooking tips with us in this thread: http://www.co-ar15.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19665

While we're not as bad as a lot of sites I've been on that like to each their young, if it's a really simple question (I know, just what constitutes a "simple question; right?), you can expect the occassional smart alec response like...

Never take it personally!

The whole chef thing is legit, but I don't use many recipes. I free hand pretty much everything I make so giving out recipes is tough.
Welcome.

And as far as the noob thing goes, mostly what I'll be asking for in the beginning is opinions. I know everyone has one but I like to deals with the local guys rather than google as much as possible.
