Same here. I wouldn't buy a "new" GM product if it was half price just because of where the money would go. The employees are benefiting from this crap today, but how long can the company keep this shit up?

Its stupid how Gm and Chryslers ceo's showed up to washington in their private jets to ask for money, im glad Ford did the opposite and instead sold off Jaguar, Land Rover, Aston Martin and Mazda now fully, and if you guys are so broke how do you guys still have the money to race? Ford's racing division is self sustaining. It makes more money than it spends. And much the R&D that goes on ends up in normal cars later down the road. If they stopped the would quickly lose pace with other car companies.

I only found one source (mlive used and expounded on jalopnik, jalopnik is the original source of the story) that said Ford took bailout money, now that one source is quoted a few times but it is still only one original source.

With the media acting as The Messiah's lapdog I'd think this story, if true, would have been more widely reported. Then obama could claim he helped all 3 domestic automakers.

I doubt the story on jalopnik is true, the mlive reporter did no leg work on his own, he just repeated the jalopnik story. This is what passes for investigative journalism these days.

I have two GM trucks, a four cylinder and a V8. Both are bad ass. They have never failed to get me home. Having OnStar saves me $800 a year in insurance over other companies. My boat has a GM motor too. I have had a few issues with the trucks mainly minor. I usually can get the parts I need to fix them from local parts stores. You rarely see a GM made truck on the side of the road broke down. I think I'll stick to GM manufactured trucks for the future. I like vehicles I can lay down and sleep in if necessary.My next truck I'll build my self, 454 turbo charged, with a Turbo Hydramatic 400 transmission and Flex Fuel ready. Damn I got alot of work to do...

I stopped buying chevrolet when i bought a brand new 2004 aveo, blew the head gasket at 22k miles and warped the head at 25k. It was under warranty, however, they had to wait for the new motor from Mexico to ship!! After they put the motor in it I sold it and went and bought a Taurus.. Made in Chicago on my window.
Chevrolet could make good vehicles.. but they don't.. With chevrolet owners its always "it works great" or "its a nightmare."

Looks like Toyota is more made in america than any of the Detroit car makers with 4 vehicles in the top 10.
