When buying from the "for sale" section:

If I say that "I am very interested and would like to plan a time to come and check it out". I want to make sure it is described as stated, (I live in centennial, seller in Loveland), does that mean spf, or does it go to the next guy in line? or does it have some hold on something? Would any of you notify if there was another offer? I had someone beat by 2 hours, while I was trying to set up a meeting time, the seller sold from under me. Im pissed, went to the bank, got funds out, etc. How do you deal with a zero feedback seller with this? Im stumped.

I am the first PM and the first post on the thread.

Am I wrong? Square me away if I am. [Rant1]

Based on what you said, no...it doesn't sound like you were serious.

If you said "I'll take it. Lets figure out a time to meet up." that's completely different.

If I was the seller, I wouldn't turn someone offering to buy it right away because someone wants to "look at it".

Guess I should have been a little more clear.

I had that exact same situation with me as the seller. I had a member, I think it was legaleagle, send me a PM stating that he was interested and wanted to look at whatever it was. Before I saw that and set up a time, another member sent the "I'll take it" message. I sold to that member and legaleagle got pissy about it. Now- if I had sent him a message back and actually arranged a time for him to come over- I would have given him 1st shot. My opinion- "I'm interested and want to see it" takes 2nd place to "I'll take it", unless a meet has been arranged by me and the interested member.

yup, first sold, or I'll take it wins...

Lookers get runner up position...

I've had "lookers" who did not commit to buy, not end up purchasing..

Never had anyone say I'll take it and back out...

After we talked I noticed the title went SPF, I guess I kinda assumed that was mine. There werent any other posts... Once we talked we did set up a time and a place, I confirmed I would take it. He said that he got confused on who was who and didnt want to piss anyone off or do the wrong thing. I am kinda having a minor temper tantrum. He did have the courtesy to call me and apologize for the mix up. I am not a fan of leaving bad feedback, just needed to vent. From my end all the PMs made sense, and was looking forward to this purchase. I have had a rough week and its my Bday next week. Rant over.

yeah, an "I'll take it" trumps a "I want to come see it" every time

I know its not what you wanted to hear, but look at it from the sellers point.

Rule IX3 3. Discuss any transaction details or problems off-line (not in the thread (use IM, email or some other means)). While not in the original thread it is always best to try PM's or contact one of the staff for clarification on any of the rules. One PM to any of us would have cleared this up right away instead of airing it here. Thanks.

Jerry

As far as Im concerned if you set up a meeting time to take a look, you have first dibs. After all who the hell buys something sight unseen?

Sorry. Unless there was a firm SOLD i will take it, Pending further inspection. The one posting your reply is not on the radar if another poster says SOLD. Unless the seller has something unique that warrants hands on to verify overall condition.
Setting up a meeting to take a look with out a confirmed willing to purchase is like an "I'm interested" when there are others willing to commit. Why should anyone drive X amount of time for someone to "look" at your sale item?

ALL SELLERS should post pictures of an item for sale. IF the seller said sorry having an issue with camera, then a visual insp as posted in contact between buyer / seller would cover the interested party as 1st in line to buy.
I would not buy anything with out seeing pictures of the item.

I operate that the first person with cash in my hand gets the item I'm selling...sorry but if I have something up for sale I'm not going to hang on to it and turn others down.

Tons of people. Millions of people buy expensive things on the internet without being able to see the exact item first.

I think of it like a car. If someone wants to come see it that's great, but if someone else puts the money in my hand before you can make it out then they win. You never agreed to buy it, just look at it.

I totally understand that, from my end it appeared it went SPf...that made me assume. But your right, i could have been clearer.

"A Bird in the hand is worth two in the bush."

This. ^^^^ And with that I will clean this up and close it. I do understand that there is a little confusion but every board I am on no matter what is selling it is always the first "I will take it".

Many post that right in the ad. First "I will take it get's it" If anyone is not happy about what I have done drop me a line. Hope I quoted you correct this time BS. :)
