I've got an elk hide curing right now and wanted to get it tanned. I've called a couple taxidermy places but either they don't do hides or recommended I go with Rocky Mountain Tanners.

Based on this thread :http://www.co-ar15.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27860&highlight=rocky+mountain+tanners and the fact that I've called several times today and can't get them on the phone I'm not to sure I'll use them.

Any one have a place they'd recommend in the Aurora area or within 20 miles or so?

You may want to give this guy a call, he's in Westminster. Great guy but not the cheapest in the world. He sends hides out of state to be tanned due to local hassles with tanning, but he may be able to make some good recomendations for you.

Let me know if you find a local tanner you like.

Mine too!! [ROFL1] [Beer] I have never had any problems with R.M.T. I hope it was just an honest mistake!!

Was that a "hair on" or "hair off" tanning? [ROFL1]
