View Full Version : Anti-gun people are dumb..

Here is an actual conversation I had with someone today on FB, this person I thought was my friend, but now I'm not so sure I want to be friends with an ignorant sheep:
Me: "Anytime people go to CA I tell them: Remember to leave your guns and your freedom at home!"
Her: Guns eh? Prob should just leave your gun at home regardless of where you go.
Me: Hell no! I take it everywhere with me these days... it's like a visa card, never leave home without it! I have nice things and I intend to keep them.
Her: ‎... Kill for things. Typical.
Me: No, defend myself from the cretins of society... and if some guy wants to try to take my car, yeah I'll fucking kill his ass deader than Napoleon. No one has a right to things that aren't theirs, that's why we work and pay for things the legal way.
Her: I can't imagine what it must be like to be you... thankfully.
Me: Two words... Fucking Awesome
Her: To each their own.
Me: Well some ask why I carry a gun, because carrying a police officer would be impractical.
Her: You should just be one.
Me: Why? I make more money, work better hours and I'd rather not deal with the scum of the earth everyday. Respect them and what they do, just not what I want to do...

I ask, why are they so dumb? Guns are evil and kill things... ok, but when that big guy comes out of the shadows and demands your wallet (or virtue for some women) then I think I'd rather choose not to be a victim- a trigger pull takes .03 seconds, 911 can take upwards of 5-10min!

I don't expect everyone to agree with what I do or how I do it but if they respect there are different ways of doing things then good on them.

Nope, not hot at all... she has a mouse type nose, really dark eyebrows, ugly face, and voice that makes you want to hope someone finds a chalkboard and puts their nails to it to drown her out. But up until this convo she was pretty cool and nice, now I'm kinda thinking not so much, especially this remark:

Yeah, I would add don't make the assumption that someone is stupid because they're holding an opinion you don't agree with. They may be a very intelligent person, who through some personal experience or just through their world view hold an opinion that you think is wrong, even if you think it can be demonstrated as false.

For example, someone may or may not believe in global warming, but to assume they're stupid for taking one side of the argument or another could well bite you in the ass.

Deadly force does NOT apply to property, without 'reasonable' belief that your life or the lives of those around you are in jeopardy. You aren't defending your property, you are defending your life.. and the intent is NOT to kill.. it is to stop the threat.

Just do us all a favor, and when you DO (heaven forbid) have to defend yourself, or those around you... keep your pie hole shut until you have a lawyer speak for you. [Bang][Bang]

Damn the attacks here! I guess eye doctors are in short supply or hooked on phonics didn't make a whole lot of money from your families... I said "I felt like my safety was in jeopardy" where in that does it not prove clearly that I felt that if I didn't act I would be harmed. CO state law does say you have the right to feel SAFE, when that is compromised I'll use whatever force is necessary to ensure my safety. When in the history of the world have you ever seen someone walk up to a car and say get out and they weren't using some sort of threat of violence? I can always assume someone who wants to criminally take my property wouldn't be prepared to assault/maim/kill me for it, otherwise I just ask them nicely to stop and show that I'm armed. It defeats the purpose. I'd appreciate it if you all wouldn't jump down my throat when I say I'll gladly draw at least to persuade a would be thief from stealing my things. I paid a lot of money for a lot of my stuff and to just let them get away with taking it is unacceptable in my book, I will use the proper force to avoid being the victim again.

No one is attacking you. Just trying to give you some advise on how to handle a situation so you don't get in unnecessary trouble. Colorado law does not state you have "right to feel safe" and you did not state you would draw to persuade someone from taking something. You said you would kill them. Even just drawing a weapon could get you in trouble.

so what is deemed necessary force? seems like if I am being carjacked i could make a case that i was afraid for my life, if they are taking my car with me in it i can make a strong case that i believed I was in immediate danger of being assaulted. i don't think the bad guy is going to be asking nicely to borrow it, i would assume that he is capable and ready to commit an assualt in order to take the car. I am not going to hand over my car to some scumbag therefore he is going to have to assault me or attempt to assault me in which case i shoot him.

18-1-706 Use Of Physical Force In Defense Of Property
A person is justified in using reasonably and appropriate physical force upon another person when and to the extent that he reasonably believes it necessary to prevent what he reasonably believes to be an attempt
by the other person to commit theft, criminal mischief, or criminal tampering
involving property, but he may use deadly physical force under these circumstances only in defense of himself or another as described
in section 18-1-704.

18-1-704 Use Of Physical Force In Defense Of A Person
1. Except as provided in subsections (2) and (3) of this section, a person is justified in using physical force upon another person in order to defend himself or a third person in order to defend himself or a third person from what he reasonably believes to be the use or imminent use of unlawful physical force by that other person, and he may use a degree of force which he reasonably believes to be necessary for that purpose.
2. Deadly physical force may be used only if a person reasonably believes a lesser degree of force is inadequate and:
(a.) The actor has reasonable ground to believe, and does believe, that he
or another person is in
imminent danger of being killed or of receiving great bodily injury; or
(b.) The other person is using or reasonably appears about to use physical
force against an occupant of a dwelling or business establishment while committing or attempting to commit burglary as defined in sections 18-4-202 to 18-4-204; or
(c.) The other person is committing or reasonably appears about to commit
kidnapping as defined
in section 18-3-301 or 18-3-302, robbery as defined in section 18-4-301 or
18-4-302, sexual
assault as set forth in section 18-3-402 or 18-3-403 as it existed prior to
July 1, 2000, or assault as
defined in sections 18-3-202 or 18-3-203.

Really your safety? Not your life or those around you? I feel my safety is violated every day when I get on the roads with these idiots that drive around here constantly distracted..

I do use the proper defense and drive very aware of other vehicles... I don't 'kill' them.

You assume they would NOT be prepared to assault you? They were simply asking for your car.. not prepared to assault you and you felt as though you had to 'kill them' to protect it.. Semantics.. but never put yourself on the stand.

I'd appreciate it if you all wouldn't jump down my throat when I say I'll gladly draw at least to persuade a would be thief from stealing my things. I paid a lot of money for a lot of my stuff and to just let them get away with taking it is unacceptable in my book

You didn't say you would simply brandish your weapon, you said you would KILL.. A jury isn't going to care what you paid for your things. Unless they believe that your life was in danger, your possessions are irrelevant. Again, heaven forbid a prosecutor gets a hold of this post from you to present as evidence.

I will use the proper force to avoid being the victim again.

See the first smart thing you have said.. PROPER FORCE.. Colorado law (not including in your home) states that force be proportionate while defending yourself.. the difference between a threat and an attack are drawn. Someone holding a knife/gun at you is a threat, unless a 'reasonable' person were to believe that their life were in danger.

While being the victim of any sort of violent crime is not pleasant it does not excuse you in the future or escalating the situation beyond what is necessary.

Perhaps you should learn to defend yourself, instead of thinking that a gun is your only defense.

I will gladly invite you to the next self defense seminar we put on at the place I train. I'd even ask you to come to class a few times and try it out..

Period. There are many facts to support each side and the fight will never end. To think your opinion is better, right or the others are wrong, makes you the dumb one. And that kind of attitude about it is what makes gun owners look like close minded back woods morons.

Just FYI the use of deadly force is not justified to protect personal property in CO.

That is very interesting.

Here at home our 'castle doctrine' extends from our home, to cars & workplace and allows you to use deadly force in several instances.

The person reasonably believes force is necessary to prevent another from taking the property or to recover it once taken (if in fresh pursuit); and
when the person reasonably believes deadly force is necessary to prevent someone from committing arson, burglary, robbery, aggravated robbery, theft during the nighttime, or criminal mischief during the nighttime, or to prevent a person from fleeing immediately after committing burglary, robbery, aggravated robbery, or theft during the nighttime; and
the person reasonably believes that the property can't be recovered by any other means, and that using less than deadly force might expose the person to substantial risk of bodily harm or death. The old man that was charged for shooting the thieves stealing his trailer would be a free man.

So, that makes me wonder why open carry is allowed in CO. If you had to use your firearm it looks like you would potentially have some serious legal issues on your hands.

A guy is trying to steal my truck out of my driveway. No shoot.
A guy is trying to steal my truck out of my driveway and pulls out a weapon when confronted. Shoot.
A guy is trying to steal my truck while I'm in it. Shoot.

The GOAL is to stop the threat. The INTENT is to kill to stop that threat.
Goal: What you want to accomplish.
Intent: What actions you intend to take to accomplish that goal.
Killing is the last wrench in your bag of tools. Before you get to that point, legally, all of the other tools in that bag need to be used or believed to not be useful in the situation. But when you draw that weapon, you'd better be ready to use it.

What screwed Bobby Wallace (the old fella in the trailer theft incident) was NOT the law.
It was Bobby Wallace.
If you want to see a case study in what NOT TO DO after a shooting read the affidavits associated with his case.
1- did not call police immediately.
2- when he did finally call he made no mention of the shooting.
3- when initially questioned regarding a possible shooting, he denied any knowledge of such.
4- detectives basically had to pry the information from him.

Your actions AFTER using a firearm in self defense are just as critical to your life as the actual incident which required using said firearm.

That doesn't work at all. A whore is someone who uses her vagina a freely or a lot. A coward is someone who does something(uses a gun in this case) out of fear. Those are 100% non-related since one is about how often you use something and the other is about the motivation for doing something. I understand it may be kind of funny if you don't think about it, but it's actually quite dumb.

A whore is not a female who uses their vagina "freely" or "a lot." I am sure they have to use it everyday to piss...

A whore is defined as:
noun
1.a woman who engages in promiscuous sexual intercourse, usually for money; prostitute; harlot; strumpet.
(from www.dictionary.com (http://www.dictionary.com))

I would say the comment was aimed towards her dumb comment that every person who uses a gun is a coward. It was responded with another dumb comment that any person with a vagina is whore in an effort to make a point (which he did) that her original statement made no more sense than his.

Umm, women use their urethra to piss, just like guys. It is not considered part of the vagina.

Also the definition that you posted supports what I said since it talks about promiscuous sex and the definition of promiscuous is

"1.characterized by or involving indiscriminate mingling or association, especially having sexual relations with a number of partners on a casual basis."

and

"3. indiscriminate; without discrimination."

Which is exactly what I said. And using a dumb comment to counter a dumb comment doesn't work. You should use an intelligent comment to counter a dumb comment.

Agreed, I'm gonna try to stay out of this one, this could get pretty entertaining.

I wonder if we right wing nutjobs scared him away?

You should use an intelligent comment to counter a dumb comment.

Why don't you share with the rest of what the "intelligent" comment should have been in response to her statement?

I would have asked her to justify her statement. If she can't it makes her look dumb and invalidates what she said.

Smart ass comments get you laughs, but acting like a mature adult gets you respect. I would rather have respect.

I just want to say for the record I respect smartass statements, not only are they funny but they make the recipient feel like crap (I dig that), also it practices a long forgot about thing called wit.

But I digress..

His comment did both. She could not justify her statement which made her look dumb and the way he worded invalidated what she said because she couldn't respond to it. He just made it more funny by using the examples he did.

Please explain to me how he invalidated her comment with his. His comment did not apply to what she said at all, it was a very poor analogy.

Also she never got the chance to attempt to justify what she said because he derailed the conversation with a sarcastic comment. This is something that people commonly do when they can't think of a valid and intelligent counter point. I am not saying that is why he did it, but that is something you learn in debate 101.

Kind of reminds me of..[Train]

The comment was a sarcastic joke. Nothing more. There was never a debate. She stated her opinion and SA_Friday responded. If you read the original post 9/10 times its really not worth arguing with somebody who is Anti-Gun. You have your opinion and I have mine. I can't help that a few more people agree that the comment was funny and that you don't.

To me it quite clearly was a debate. She was making points and he was making counter points. I am not sure how you wouldn't consider that a small debate.

I do completely agree that the gun/anti-gun debate is completely pointless, which is why I never get into it with anyone. I always just say "that's your opinion" and let it die.

And I never said it wasn't funny, I just said it does a very poor job of proving his point. I am saying it's a poor analogy, not contending the "oh snap" factor. I am pretty sure I would have laughed if I had heard someone say that.

Really I don't see anyone personally attacking you.. Just giving advice.. so gear down there big shifter.

Really your safety? Not your life or those around you? I feel my safety is violated every day when I get on the roads with these idiots that drive around here constantly distracted..

I do use the proper defense and drive very aware of other vehicles... I don't 'kill' them.

You assume they would NOT be prepared to assault you? They were simply asking for your car.. not prepared to assault you and you felt as though you had to 'kill them' to protect it.. Semantics.. but never put yourself on the stand.

Again I will yield and say I misspoke. [Help] Here is revised statements for all of you to be clear and so I can no longer drag my name through this mud bog...
Made it pretty red for you! In a situation where I feel bodily injury may result, step one: attempt to verbally de-escalate the situation. If Step one fails: Step two: Use MMA skills learned from Uncle Sam to defend self. Upon failure of step two, or if attacker has superior skills, utilize blunt or bladed weapon to attempt to deter would-be attacker. Upon failure of all options draw gun. If gun fails to deter exercise proper sight and trigger control to eliminate the threat. If gun cannot adequately eliminate or neutralize threat, utilize double tap in conjunction with single round to drool zone in quick succession while achieving maximum potential accuracy. All else fails, call in artillery strike danger close on target.
Note: Not once did I use the word kill, and arty is just meant as a joke... obviously target would be stopped completely with a single round to the drool zone. For those that don't know, the drool zone ranges from just slightly above the eyes to the upper lip and about the width of the eyes- it almost guarantees a kill shot if the round is placed here as the penetration of the round will hit the brain stem causing nearly instant death.

And I always thought you had to turn the gun sideways to get a kill shot. Are you saying I've been doing it wrong? [ROFL1]

Jesus Christ. Everyone knows that whores are afraid of their pimps. They don't have sex for money for fun.

EDIT: I can't believe I got suckered into stooping to this lady's level.

The motivations of a coward compared to those of a whore is not the issue of the analogy. It is that possessing X, does not mean being Y, in all situations. There is nothing more to the comment than that. It is too simple (for most people) to be a failed analogy.
