Kindergartner's assignment was to bring an important family item for Show and Tell.
Kid brings mom's uh... prized possession.

I thought it was going to be a battery-powered item. But a crack pipe's pretty good, too.

Wouldn't be the first time.

Moreover, I wouldn't let my kid walk out of the house with anything worth $3700, let alone something like drugs.

Sad.

Reading the title I thought dad's old rifle
Readin the OP I thought mom's 'curling iron'

So ya think mom buzzed around the house looking for her stash then figured out the "lawn ninjas" took it??

Sad is right, unfortunately the poor kid probably did take the most important thing in "moms world" for show and tell.

Addiction is an awful thing...................

I wonder if the kid either consciously or subconsciously knew what his mom was up to was wrong. She was probably stoned out of her head, passed out on the couch and he put the stuff in his bag to take to school. I'm glad something was done about it.

my first thought was gun or some wacky ordnance item .
poor kid did the best and worst thing for his life . i honestly hope he gets a drug free home but he will probably end up in the foster care system forever
