I travel for work, sometimes out of state for months at a time. Anybody else have this problem. Sometimes I end up in unfriendly states. Legally I can't have somebody babysit for me can I?

I think you can if they don't have access to the safe that you keep them in. Like if you had a safe at their house, and you had the only key.

Yes, you just need to secure them so only you can use them - either a locked case inside their safe, or a bicycle cable lock through the actions, etc.

New here, but I travel quite a bit (8+ months of the year) and fly frequently with NFA items. As has been said, the big issue is 'access' to the firearms. I routinely lock mine in a case, retain the key, and leave them with family or friends as necessary.

The biggest issue for me has been using enough foresight to have a 5320 filed for wherever I am going in a timely enough manner when I am taking them with me.

I believe it's an option, if you go the trust route, to add a person to it and store them at their place. Then they can have access to it because they are named on the paperwork.

I may be wrong, happens alot.

The Corporate route would/might also work for this and would I beleive be more flexable in adding/subtracting employees who are allowed access. The one issue I see here, in both cases, is that the ATF requires the location of the firearms and long term storage at another location (even if in state) might violate the rules. Yes, practically it's unlikely they are going to come knocking on your door, but the rules are the rules.
