I've seen precious little about this gun. On paper it looks great to me, but there's less of a universe of infomation about them in the 500/870/benelli dominated world of "tactical" shotguns.

I have a Remington 1100CM. Very similar to the TAC 4.

I like it. It's heavier than a Benelli M2 Field though.

While the 1100CM has been great for me, I'm told if you shoot a LOT the Benelli is a better / more reliable long-term investment.

I have a buddy on the Orange County Florida Swat team (yes, we all have a buddy....) but they exclusively use Winchester Ranger 2 3/4" 00, 8-ball loads. they use benellis. he says the 8 ball loads pattern better than the standard 9ball.

I had an 1100 Tac 2 for a while. Good shotgun, nice recoil, only liked heavy loads though.

While still functionally sound, the 1100 has become outdated by simpler and more robust designs. Too many moving parts and too much sensitivity to gas pressure. Feeding is a bear since you have to push the carrier release button as you load each shell. You can add a speed gate, but that isn't a drop in part and requires a fair bit of hand fitting to get installed right. It took me about 4 hours to install one. Once in, the speed gate gets in the way when you are trying to load weak hand style. For the money you can get into much better shotguns. Look at the Mossberg SPX or the FN SLP (my personal choice) or a Benelli.

I would go with benelli m2, or better yet an 870 if you intend it for home defence.

Thanks for all the input everyone--that SPX looks like it may be my choice!
