View Full Version : How many guns do you use for CCW?

Just curious to see how many guns you use for CCW. I know certain occasions or moods can play a roll but I really wanted to see how many some of you guys actually use.
I use a fullsize Baby Eagle in 9mm that is my primary, and a Keltec P11 that I carry when the Eagle is too big/heavy/noticeable.
I'm pretty sure I couldn't hit a man sized target under stress at 65 yards with either one on the first shot....[ROFL1]

Do you mean at one time?
I have 4 guns I alternate between based on what I'm wearing, where I'm going and what mood I'm in.
From smallest to largest:
S&W 340 M&P (J frame, airweight .357mag)
Steyr S40 (carried the most)
Dan Wesson 14-2 snubbie
CZ 75B SD .40 (when I feel like packing a large gun)
Most of the time I pack the Steyr, followed by the J Frame when I need a lighter gun/deeper carry. The other two are carried when the mood strikes me.
Actually I guess you could say 5 guns because sometimes I carry my wife's KelTec P3AT (although the J Frame has replaced it for 99% of the time I need something small ... like at the gym)
Sig P229 .357 Sig
Sig P250 .357 Sig subcompact
Glock 22 .357 Sig
I carry the P250 more than the other two.

do you mean at ONCE? or just how many are in the 'pool'?
I picked 3, because I assumed you meant 'pool' based on the original post.
Kel-Tec P11 is my smallest, lightest, and weakest I'll carry
Kel-Tec P40 is the same size, but more punch- with heavy recoil.
M&P 40c is the latest addition, it's a bit bigger, but more power & better control than either of the Kel-Tecs...
I may use a Kel-Tec in an ankle holster while carrying the M&P 40c at some point, but I haven't felt the need to double up yet... I don't spend much time in bad neighborhoods.. [ROFL1]

I've retired my 1911 from CCW use. I only carry my XD9sc now. I can have a nice compact setup with the flush mag or have 16+1 rounds of 9mm on tap if I have the right cover garment to keep it concealed. I also only have one manual of arms to worry about.

you obviously didn't read all of that and take it the way it was intended.
it was fabricated as I really don't want the whole internets knowing what I carry and where

full size 1911 IWB or shoulder rig
Come Christmas I plan to build a officer slide on a commander frame 1911, so might retire the full size to competition.

I took it exactly how it was intended... like I'm going to tell somebody ACTUALLY carrying a LAW and a bazooka that he's got a girly gun... [Coffee]

Hello all I am new to this outstanding BBS. I carry a Kimber Tactical Pro Carry in .45 ACP. Great pistol. Ok I hope to get my CCW here in Colorado now that I am a resident of this great State. I have my CCW from Ohio for 7 years. My back up piece is a .40 cal CZ PO 1 nice pistol.
Just one. A Glock 26 with a spare Glock 17 mag.
I alternate between a Kinber Ultra Carry 45ACP (3") and a Wilson KZ 45 (4"). The Kinber carrys 7+1 rounds and the Wilson carrys 9+1 but the weight difference is only about 5 or 6 oz.

I rotate between 3-4.
Summer time - PM9 carried in a 5-Shot pocket holster
When I'm wearing cover, a 3" Colt Defender .45, Glock 19 or 23 in a Milt Sparks VM II or Josh Bulman OWB.
I am ashamed to admit that I have all most as many as some women have shoes lol.
I carry a kahr cw45 in a crossdraw IWB, a S&W M&P45 also crossdraw, sometimes a rossi 38 snubbie in a pocket holster, and during the summer most of the time a keltec 380 in a pocket holster. What I carry is dependent on the temp and what clothes I am wearing. tom

Glad to see I am not alone in varying what I carry. Depends on dress as to what I carry.
M&P Compact 9mm IWB in a Liberty Holster 50% time
Glock 23 IWB Liberty Holster when in the mountains hiking with the family
Glock 27 in Galco OWB when wearing a windshirt / hockey jersey / long T-shirt 40% time
SIG P238 in a Sig wallet style holster when just running out to the store etc etc 10% of the time
Taurus Tracker 44mag in a Horizontal Shoulder holster when backcountry flyfishing.
The only guns I own I dont carry are Glock 19 with Viridian 5xl and 6" Stainless Colt King Cobra

I rotate between two primary. Both are very similar 1911-style configurations because I want to keep my "under stress" reactions the same. I primarily train with the pistols I carry for the same reason.

Rotate between five. All 1911's. Three 45's, one 40, one 9. Once in awhile a 10.

Sweet! Another blast from the past thread, that I missed.
I too am like my wife is with her shoes. Situation dictates what gun and holster I carry.
99% of the time I carry a 1911.
In summer most of the time it’s a Wilson Sentinel in .45. In a IWB holster, and when I ride my motorcycle I wear a ridding jacket and a shoulder holster
Winter time a Wilson Combat CQB. OWB
Spring and fall ether my Ed Brown Kobra Carry or my WC CQB. In a IWB and if I have a jacket an OWB.
When we’re out in backcountry, some times a 629 OWB
If I have to carry something smaller ether my S&W 642 IWB/pocket or my Bersa 380. In a pocket holster.

Glock 19, Gen 3
I have four guns in my carry rotation: Glock 19, S&W 410, SA 1911, Sig 1911.

Its all situational. If I am wearing a jacket and dont expect to be indoors much, I may carry the G19 and X300. If its standard clothing then I'll AIWB the G26. If Im in shorts and a tee shirt, then its the SW 642.
Ruger LCR

I love this site! Always good for a laugh or three. Sig 1911 Ultra Compact or Wilson Professional LW, both in 45.
S&W 360 IWB. Today was my first day venturing out CCW. Braved the 16th street mall in Denver. Once it gets cooler M&P 45c belt holster. Anybody remember your first day carrying concealed? I carried as a cop/security for alot of years. Never a doubt there. badge/uniform. CCW was different, but I have to remember I am within my rights. Moved here from chicago, and wake up every morning thankful I live here. Oh original thread..I guess I have one more. 44 special bulldog.
Only carry one all the time. A glock G36. I feel like if you need to carry more than one at a time your "screwed" and if you need more than 7 shots your "screwed again.[ROFL1]
