Broke the rear view mirror off the truck door. Paw prints all over the window too.

In this particular case, objects in the mirror actually WERE closer than they appeared.

More seriously, hope your insurance will cover it. I can honestly say that's a type of claim I've never filed. It doesn't take much anymore to rack up past the deductible. I could make a couple more bear references but won't because it stings a bit to have to come up with the deductible with the economy the way it is. That deductible amount could go toward that new lens you are seeking.

At the end of August one crapped in our driveway.

We live 10 miles EAST of Pueblo. Food situation was getting dire in the foothills, and we had an abundance of chokecherries and wild plums.

Holy Crap! (kind of kidding on that one). That's moving my direction. [Coffee]

More serious note - the branching out seems related to another current post here regarding an animal encounter. I read in the Chieftain not too long ago there was a small one running around P-town. Although I'm not extremely knowledgeable in this area, it seems the food situation for the critters is getting about as bad as the economy is for us two-legged types. Expected location doesn't seem to apply as much these days. No real news story there, I suppose.

It seems logical to expect more encounters and/or situations that might not usually happen (both the two-legged and four-legged variety). I know this thread is about the four-legged variety and I don't mean it to introduce new discussion - just tossing out some food for thought for another day.

Hope this wasn't a hijack - now that I think I digressed (hopefully not too bad), back to the OP and on topic.

Come on.... everyone knows bears poop in the woods.

Not in your driveway. [Coffee]

Pooped once? I have a meadow full of bear and elk scat. What's weird is the coyotes have started pooping on the road. Not sure if it's a marking territory thing or what. The dog takes care of the rabbit poop.

I did find the mirror this afternoon. The bear carried it about 20 yards. It was broken into lots of pieces. Guess it didn't taste very good.

$10 and a trip to Grant will replace the mirror. Insurance? We don't need no stinking insurance.

Um, I was asleep. And no, I don't sleep with a loaded camera next to the bed. [Coffee]

Thanks but I need to go that direction anyway. Need some parts for a new project.

Definitely wasn't my truck then. ;)

Here is a graphic re-enactment pic.

Not much to take a pic of. Smeared prints on the window and broken mirror bits. Too dry for foot prints on the ground.

Nice boar has been living under the trees in my brother's neighbor's yard for nearly 3 weeks. Right in the middle of suburbia in CSprings. DOW was called and their only question was "Does it have a cub?" No cub. They never even came by to check it out. To busy trying to figure out how to screw hunters out of something else.
I had considered running a lottery on Craigslist for those with tags for archery season.[Coffee]
