I heard from the Rocky Mountain Gun Owners that the CCW permits are expiring in June of 2007. Is this true???

"For those people who already hold a permit from Colorado, your permit will be valid until the expiration on the permit or June 2007, whichever comes first. You won't be able to renew your permit if it is from a chief of police, or if it is from a sheriff outside of your own county."

This is from http://www.rmgo.org/CCWsummary.html

Is it a good idea to call my sheriff to be removed from the CCIC database or are they going to get me for something, like rocking the boat and take my CCW license away???

Nothing to worry about, a few years back the leglislature revisited the program. Old permits (which were not consistently issued on a county-by-county basis) expire and get replaced with the new "shall-issue" flavor.

The database is a differnt issue, IIRC there are some old posts that go into this in detail.
