Hey yall, I need some help on selecting a new scope. This will be replacing a cheap simmons 3-9x that come on my Stevens 200 .223 when i bought it. I want something with more magnafication for some varmit huntin/plinking duties.
What would you experts recommend with a budget of around $250?
Thanks in advance. [Beer]
If you are looking for the best fixed power scopes in that range- or slightly higher- I would be looking at the Super Sniper in 10x or 16x. Excellent glass for that kind of money. The variable powers are definitely going to be lower quality glass in that range.
Some links- only one place to buy them new-

They do have some more expensive models, but the original $299 units were the ones getting all the praise initially.

I like the new Redfield scopes. I have one on the Fal. Made in America, lifetime warranty and very nice glass for the money.

Redfield scopes are "built" or "assembled" in the USA, they are not "made" here. In order for them to be made here, they have to have a certain percentage of parts made here. Most of Redfield's parts are made overseas in Asia.

I would up your allowance and look at the 16x Sightron SIII. The glass will make any scope in the $250 range look like junk and the knob adjustments are repeatable.
Cry once on these things.

If you want an excellent mil/mil scope, you can't beat the Bushnell 321040T
Link please.
Call Leupold and ask them for yourself.

I like redhawk optics, they are under $150.00 and good for most applications.
Leupold: they have some cheaper models or they go on sale.
