I gotz me a new toy. Don't know if I want to go shoot it Tuesday or just start tearing it down for conversion right away.

I like to run some shells through it to make sure there are no problems (cycling etc). They are fun to convert.

Oh and hooray for my 100th post.

Go shooting, clean and lube it up, stop by Wally World and pick up 100 rounds of target loads, $22 + tax I think, and literally have a blast ! Pick up a few 00 buck rounds too to see how it shoots with full power rounds.
Have some fun and function test at the same time before tearing it down to do the AK conversion.

That's my 2 cents worth anyway,

Post up the changes as you make them, will be interesting to see. It's a saiga shotgun correct? (don't laugh at me just asking since I don't know..)

I'll second (third?)- shoot it first, make sure you didn't get a vodka special... harder to get warranty work after conversion.

don't be too concerned if it won't eat wally world Winchester bulk packs... they're usually a problem. but put some magnums and some Federal or Remington Bulk packs thru it to ensure function... just be sure to change the gas setting for the magnums...

I walked the entire show just kinda looking casually at them. Prices were all in in the very upper 700 to as high as 900. I knew of an online source for 625 plus shipping and FFL fees so that was my benchmark.

Then I stumbled across one with a $679 price tag on it. I wandered a little more and headed back over and asked if that was a new unit price. He told me yes however if I was ready to buy he would do a little better. He came back at $660 with the background so I pulled the trigger. As a bonus I got a brand new box that hadn't even been opened.
