I have a Mossberg 590 pump right now, but I'm interested in going with an autoloader.

Been looking at the following:

FN SLP
Mossberg 930 SPX
Benelli (M1 or M4)

Everyone I talk to goes Benelli crazy, but I don't really want to drop $1600 on an M4 and then still have to add a tube extension to get to a round capacity I'd like.

Any suggestions/opinions on the above weapons, or any alternatives to these?

Thanks much -

Stoeger makes a good shot gun. Very similiar to the benelli. My friend uses his in Missouri snow goose hunting. He loves it.

Benelli M4...or M1. Can't go wrong. I have both, M4 for HD and M1 26" for hunting. Love them both.

Benelli M1 or th eberetta 1201 series of auto loaders. the 1201 Fp i have was like shooting a machine gun, a tad more recoil than the M-1S90

+1 on the SLP, the 22" model is a little long for HD use but the 18" would work well.
The Winny X2 is identical in design and operation and a smidge cheaper I believe.

Opinion on Best HD autoloader-

Remington 870

yes, i'm trying to make a point.

If you really want a HD autoloader, then Benelli is the choice, everything else is trying to be 2nd.
