View Full Version : Wall Street?
What the hell is going on Wall Street right now? Sorry to have two threads in 5 min, but a friend of mine just posted something on FB about the whole deal going on in NYC on Wall St and it involving cops. I don't watch the news often so can someone fill me in?
Do you mean the protests?
Occupy Wall Street (https://occupywallst.org/)
A bunch of them have gotten arrested
Ok just got some word on it, it's called "Occupy Wall Street." Apparently people are really pissed off...
And they're being extremely vague- they're mad a corrupt politicians and corrupt corporations, but what is their specific grievance? I'm pissed about some politicians, but if I were to organize protests I'd be a tad bit more specific.
watching fox there not covering it

I heard Michael Moore was there in support of the protestors yesterday-
take that for what it's worth... (where's the steaming pile of dung emoticon?)
I saw it, it's the dried up I am no longer a wanted actor/actress, but dammit I will not go away.

Capitalism- Screw protesters
One girl was carrying a 'Stop Capitalism' sign. I also saw a 'Power Through Peace' sign. The guest speaker was sounding very much like a lunatic, then he said 'Martin Luther King'. For some reason everyone in the crowd repeats every word the speaker says. There is some weird stuff going on there.

I think the reason it's so weird is the whole thing is a social media experiment by some left wing organization. Kind of like a flash mob on steroids. The only theme is Wall Street = bad. Anything else is up to the protester.

Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.
