So I gave in and bought all I needed to complete my lower from Bravo Arms here in the Springs. First off, excellent store, with awesome customer service, definitely recommend them. Prices aren't bad either.
Anyway, on to the build. I got a Spikes Tactical stripped lower, DPMS parts kit, and a Magpul MOE grip and MOE stock. For my first build, it went smooth. The only part that wasn't up to par was the Selector Switch detent, which didn't quite fit. A grinder solved that real quick and now it fits perfect. They didn't have any castle nuts in stock, sadly, but one of the guys there said he had one he'd sell me for 5 bucks. Again, great customer service. I'm getting a DTI Mid Length upper, with a Magpul handguard, and MBUS flip up rear sight. Sorry for the bad picture, it's all I could get.

Bad picture or LACK of picture lol.
May I ask why you had to GRIND doen your detent?
I have never had a problem with detents fitting. I also only use DD LPK's.
Are you sure it was the correct detent? I only ask because its easy to mix up the detent for the rear takedown pin and the selector detent.

The rear take down pin was the same detent as the front. The selector detent was shaped like the buffer retainer pin, but smaller obviously.

Oh I see your pic now.
It wasnt up at first, must have been uploading while I replied.
Thats really odd. Glad you got it fixed.
Is this your first Spikes lower?

Yeah it's my first build, and my first AR at that.
Yeah I looked up what the dentent SHOULD look like, and the one that came with the parts kit looked nothing like that.

Sorry to hear that man.
Not talking your build down at all, but you should check out a DD lpk.
I GUARANTEE you everything will fit. If it doesnt, I will buy it from you.
The Spikes lower you are gonna love.
Not to mention, their Cust service is awesome.
Congrats man. What are you putting on top of it?

Yeah it's all the shop had at the time. Turns out, being my first build, I accidentally put the selector dentent in for the bolt catch detent... Whoops haha. I switched everything up and luckily I didn't grind the other detent much and it stills fits and works perfectly. Lesson learned on what the parts look like now, haha.
I'm putting a DTI mid length upper on it, with a magpul MOE handguard.

Exactly why I asked in my first post. I think I said rear takedown though.
When did you notice it was mixed up?
Its something I have seen alot, thats why I asked.
Anytime something doesnt "Fit" correctly, its from garbage parts by a sub par manufacturer, or its not the correct part.
Glad you got it fixed...and above all, you learned something.
Thats called experience man.

Yeah I forgot to look up a more detailed parts list, the one that was included made all the detents look the same. I looked one up online and sure enough, it hit me haha. Experience isn't bad at all, and luckily it wasn't hard to remove the pin from the bolt catch.

So I'm stuck in deciding between a Del-Ton upper, or a PSA mid length stainless steel barreled upper. Any opinions on which would be a better choice?
I'm liking the 7 day shipping PSA offers versus DTI's 3-4 weeks.[Coffee]
I had a Del-Ton barrel on one of my rifles. Decent enough barrel I suppose. It didn't group as well as my Daniel Defense but didn't cost as much either. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one. That being said, I have heard nothing but great things about PSA and fully intend to buy a couple of things from them in the near future (mostly a barrel and a lower parts kit).

Thanks for the input Ray
From what I've gathered, it seems PSA is actually a little less than Del-Ton.

Based on the very informal price comparisons I did between various distributors, I believe that to be true (PSA is less than Del-Ton). Actually, what swayed me was the stainless barrel with the Wylde chamber. It's pretty slick actually.

That's what Im looking at, there's something about the look of a stainless barrel, plus the wylde chamber, thats a deal maker for me.
