so i have had a lot of people ask more about the the free stuff, shooting ,pistol competition and raffle . to be honest i have no idea what im doing [ROFL1]

things i do know
pistol shoot
bailey guns is lending me a target to use .its a drag race set up so 2 shooters at a time first to clear all 3 targets wins . distance will be 12 yards . process of elimination till one shooter is left .
sorry but the only you win is well nothing just first place and a hand shake

other shooting
south site is huge and there will be plenty of room to set up a shotgun section , rifle section and pistols (other than the competition) .all of these things can happen at once (fun for all ). ill be bringing all the clays that iv been picking up over the summer (hundreds ) and a few paper targets

let me make this clear,IF YOU DONT CLEAN YOU DONT GET TO PLAY .

i could really use a hand with judging , rang officers , a grill/food stuffs person , and someone top help babysit peoples guns and ammo ect.
if you feel like your willing to help with this please post it here also feel free to use this thread to start getting rides , foods, ammo, friends and family organized

hope to see you there
alex

Ok I'm in, just when? I have a pretty nice rake, and a big box of really large trash bags (and then some other bags for brass- which I plan on just giving to whoever reloads since I'm too busy to learn how to right now)... Plus I'd love to shoot off some lead with you guys if you'll permit me and my AR, AK, and 1911... Might even break out the old Ithica '72 12GA and shoot some skeet. I don't have a thrower, but I'll bring 2 crates of clays (since they're so damn cheap!).

ok, no offense
but raffle laws in Colorado are pretty tight.
and they are pretty anal about guns (shock)
You do have your raffle license right?

You can give stuff away
You just can't "hold a raffle" (make people pay for the tickets/game of chance) without going thru the rules.

Colorado has some of the toughest raffle laws in the nation.

there ya go , no more free stuffs . people can show up on there own merit to clean the place up .
its too bad that a guy cant just give his stuff away to help out everyone without risking getting in trouble .

nope but they can buy lunch or shoot a different colored clay to get a ticket that might be used in a "random" drawing for some free stuff[Beer]

get off yer high horse and listen to what I"m telling ya (and check the secretary of state's office if you don't believe me).

honestly its just been wearing me out a bit . i do plan on giving some stuff away but i have no idea on how to word it in such a way that everyone understands that this was meant to be a fun thing , stuff gets cleaned up and we do a little friendly shooting . when its all said and done it would have been nice to be able to do like adults without laws and rules . i was doing my best to present it in more of a family get together and less like some nra function. so what if im willing to put up a beater and some trinkets to have a good time . the raffle idea was so everyone even kids could get some free stuff and feel involved , not just the people who want to compete against each other.sorry but i could not think of a way to give away this stuff and make it fair
i have already been given a bunch grief about giving away a gun and now this too. if you can imagine after a summer of playing garbage man the more grief i get about it the more of a slap in the face it becomes .

it all seemed like a fine idea at one time but not so much now
sorry just needed to vent

for those that show i might just have some stuff that might just get given away to those that help . ill be there one way or the other

as it was a private function for members only AND a Single given ticket per person AND there is no monetary exchange, the Secretary's laws would not have applied.

I agree with Byte (who said that? jk), No money exchanged for tickets, no overhead charge, no problem. IMO

IMOi was asking for trash in a bag in exchange for tickets . just because you me and everyone else thinks its ok and everyone benefits from this, im sure there is gonna be someone to come along a slap me with a fine . just as im sure at some point someone is gonna give me grief for not getting a permit to gather as a group or pick up trash .

. the main goal is cleaning up the park and showing people that shooters can gather as a group in a productive manner . it may not be much but if enough people show up we can break up into teams and get the whole park . yep it will take a few hours but when others show up just to shoot they will ether have to wait till we are done or join in . in this action we make an impact in a few ways .
sorry here is the short answer
yes you can shoot in the informal shooting match but you wont get doodley squat fer it , just a pat on the back and bragging rights

I understood why he mentioned it and its valid but the biggest factor is I think it was brought up because he doesn't want another member getting in a jam because of a club event.

Besides we all know you work your ass of at these sites to keep them clean and this is a good way to get others to do so as well.

I'm gonna try my ass off to make thier and regardles you can have my thrower and I might have a box of clays aswell. Who's bringing the name tags?

Btw just noticed I'm a "High Power Shooter" baby!!!

It's all just semantics. Would love to make it, but way to busy with school. I think random door prize is the right phrase. On that note I'd like to make a donation to Alex's cause of keeping my backyard clean.

Thank you ALEX!
