I read an update about a sad story from oklahoma this am. Two young girls were found shot to death several years ago on a dirt road. They recently got a lead, and are looking for a Glock in a 40 cal that someone may of bought used. Here is a link to the story, lists the serial number and who to contact at OSBI.

As odd as this is going to sound... I wish I had that one in my possession.
Seems the authorities down there are offering a $5000 reward for that particular piece. Not only would it be awesome to get that kind of money for a Glock, but hopefully that would be the piece of evidence they need to prosecute and convict the piece of $hit who killed those girls.
Maybe someone should post this info up on one of the big Glock forums.
I have several, bought one used from a member on the board. Doubt that's the one, did they say the model? 22/23/27? Hope they find find that f&#$r.

You have to assume they don't know the model. You can miss the actual gun in question by assuming the model is this or that. They all mark the brass and bullets with the same class of marks anyway. So, they can only be ruled out/positive through macroscopic examination.
They have a definite suspect if they have a serial number.

I was still living down in Tulsa, Ok, when it happened down south of us. Last I heard, they believed two people were involved in the shooting, and the girls may of walked upon a drug deal or something. From the story, it sounds like they have a suspect, and think the weapon was sold, possibly at a gunshow or something. Seeing we border the state, figured we better post it, to get the word out.

I didn't read the article but...if they have the serial number they know the model number.

I hope they find the bastard and he gives the arresting officers reason to use extensive force.
However, this search for the Glock is futile. Even if they found the exact gun, they wouldn't be able to conclusively match it to anything, especially if the evidence they have to match it to is years old. Waste of resources that could be better used elsewhere.
