I'm a vet with a little ptsd and I just cannot consciously rely on others to protect my safety so I usually carry or have access to a weapon. I have a CCW and it pisses me off I cannot carry in my own college.
My email last night...

If you go PPCC you can with ccw (check the handbook or read the stickers on the doors carefully). I just saw that email too. So many military there, I feel pretty safe at that campus. Hoping it wasn't someone that just printed or exposed. Time to either loose a few pounds, or get a new holster.

You're right, I re-read the handbook. Good stuff! I see all those signs at the doors and it's misleading...

A backpack makes carrying so much easier. It's impossible to imprint with and if you take some time to pick a backpack with the intention of carrying in it you can find one with a pocket that will make it extremely easy to access and out of sight 100% of the time. There were quite a few people at UCCS that carried even though it's banned there and i think almost all of them used their backpack.

Ya, I've had to re-read the fine print a few times just to be sure. I'm there all day Monday and Wednesday, see you around.
And thank you for your service![Beer]

I get the alerts from the CSU campus, but their are some board members here who make sure thats under control so I dont have to worry, that and I am 10 miles from the campus. I do believe CCW is good on campus though!

I'm at Auroria campus, Metro, and I'm screwed there. I wish the appeal would get taken care of already.

I've told CU @ Denver more than once that I won't give them money because of their stance on this. I think I'm the only one who has ever told them that, because it isn't working.

I would CCW regardless. My safety is more important then being expelled from the school.

For the campuses that say NO CCW, isnt it the same as a business with a no ccw sign. If you are noticed and asked to leave, then you leave or face trespassing etc?
I understand the ramification for being outted, expulsion or academiv dicipline etc, but isnt your safety and life worth more then that ?

Well PPCC rampart campus has a school that counts as a High school or whatnot. So depending on what is at the school it could be a crime.

That is a crock of shnikes. Way to manipulate the system to the libtards advantage. I personally wouldn try to go to another school. I do understand this isnt always a possibility for some folks.

Yes bus loads of high school students are there for a few hours in the a.m.. Although their parents probably had to sign off on campus policies. The handbook says I can carry, period.[Flower]

I would be caring also every moment I was on that campus. An active shooter leaves tons helpless and being able to defend myself on campus is invaluable.
I had a photo of the PPCC signs, now I can't find it.
I carried for a couple of weeks, but quit after one day I noticed my shirt had gotten caught and I was flashing like crazy. luckily nobody noticed, otherwise it would have been hello SWAT team.
will start again after I get a good pocket gun.
from the website
Firearms on Campus
Board Policy states that no person may have on his or her person any unauthorized firearm, ammunition, explosive device, or illegal weapon on campus or any facility used by a college. Persons authorized to carry firearms and other equipment defined in the policy are:
those persons conducting and participating in an approved program of instruction in the college's curriculum which requires access to such equipment as an integral part of the instructional program;
certified peace officers;
those persons who have been issued a valid permit to carry a concealed handgun in accordance with Colorado’s Concealed Carry Act, C.R.S. § 18-12-201, et seq. and who are acting in compliance with the requirements of that Act; and
those persons granted permission at the discretion of the college president for specific purposes from time to time. Concealed Handgun Permit holders exercising their rights pursuant to Item #3 above are responsible for preventing the casual or inadvertent display of their handgun.
It shall not be an offense if the weapon remains inside a locked motor vehicle upon the real estate owned by the State Board for Community Colleges and Occupational Education.
In accordance with Colorado Statute CRS 18-12-214(3), under no circumstances may a person other than a certified peace officer carry a firearm or other equipment defined in Board Policy onto the real property, or into any improvements erected thereon, of a public elementary, middle, junior high, or high school. This provision applies to The Classical Academy (TCA) facility, which is located on PPCC’s Rampart Range Campus and owned by School District 20 and to the Falcon Campus, which is owned by School District 49.
In accordance with Colorado Statute CRS 18-12-214(3)(a), a concealed weapon permittee may have a handgun on the real property of the public school so long as the handgun remains in his or her vehicle and, if the permittee is not in the vehicle, the handgun is in a compartment within the vehicle and the vehicle is locked.

I did some checking and it seems like PPCC is being sneaky.
according to what I posted the no carry in k-12
"This provision applies to The Classical Academy (TCA) facility, which is located on PPCC’s Rampart Range Campus and owned by School District 20 and to the Falcon Campus, which is owned by School District 49."
seems like BS to me.
When will criminals learn to read and see the signs that it says "No Guns Allowed" and go home. Its like they see that and see "No Guns Allowed e.g. noone will fight back" or something. Don't they know we are thinking for their own good? And we see spots and hear spirits that tell us what is best. How can they argue with that? Secretly its part of out plan to control everything under a central planning scam. But that is to much for those little people to understand. Have you seen Michelle Obama at target? She is all that is man and class.

Oh yeah, Im super sensative. I cry whenever I see a 45 vs 9mm thread and 45 ACP loses [Pepsi]
I always tell faculty that is against carrying on campus: I believe the VT shooting wouldn't have gone down the way it did if they allowed responsible students to carry on campus. MSCD won't allow it, thus I'm more nervous of bad chit happening and me becoming a potential victim. I'd rather be expelled than dead, as seems to be the general consensus here.
