Went to the show this past weekend at the Loveland outlet mall, mostly just to look at pistols and see whats new and felt good to me. At the first table I saw upon entering was an Aimpoint NIB Comp M4 for $519. Although I wasn't looking for one just yet, I had to jump on that. Most of the prices I see for that optic online are $740-$800.
Building my first AR, and was saving up for a complete upper. However, I knew I wanted an Eotech or Aimpoint optic as part of the build. Most of the gunshow optics are the crappy NCStar etc stuff - which I wouldn't put on a serious carbine. But the Eotech and aimpoint gunshow prices are usually nothing special.
Although my build is delayed a bit, having such a top-notch optic in hand for that price seemed like a really good deal and too good to pass up. This was the only optic that dealer was selling that day.
I guess the "early bird" got the worm!
