Anybody have any issues with DOW and hunting with AR type platform. I have heard horror stories, just wondering if any one encountered this?
Thanks

Just cannot exceed the 6 round limit, 5 in mag, 1 in chamber.

^^^^^^ This!! Stick to the letter of the law and its all good! Just make sure the High cap mags are way away! Not even in camp or with you! At all.

Hunt big game AR-10 no issues. Use cut down p-mag 5 round, or you could block it pretty easily
Never heard of any issues with them. Just make sure if you modify a mag to only hold 5, it must be a permanent mod
I've been using my .243 wssm AR15 for antelope hunting the last three seasons. Two years ago I got pulled over at a check station at Punkin Center. They checked everything, except my rifle. It was in a case and I asked them several times if they wanted to check it, mostly because I wasnted to see thier reaction to the AR, but once I told them I was shooting a .243 wssm, they didn't care to look at what style the rifle was, and I didn't tell them what it was either.
With the .243 wssm, a 10 rd. mag. will only hold 4 rounds because they single stack.
Like has been said, I don't think you'd have any issues. I still waiting to get checked while coyote calling with a suppressed AR too.

I too am curious about the horror stories of hunting with and AR type weapon?

It has to be a permanent mod? I was under the impression they could be "plugged" like a shotgun (not sure how but planned on trying it)

That's what I have been told also. I am using AR10 this year for deer and elk.
My hunting buddy uses his in 223 for coyotes and such and we have never had an issue when we run into a warden. Like someone said earlier leave the high cap mags at home.

The small game regulations differ significantly from the big game regulations on issues like capacity and legal caliber.
Just cannot exceed the 6 round limit, 5 in mag, 1 in chamber.
