Definitely has a butchered stock, and has a hex receiver. Remington DID make Mosins for Russia in WWI, don't know the details but they did make some rifles and they're quite collectable. Seems like they were made but never delivered because the Russians couldn't/wouldn't pay, or something like that. Why the Remington name has been struck out with dozens of center punches, who knows. But that right there would make me walk away. I'd only buy it if it were cheap cheap cheap.
