I noticed that Centerfire Systems has these synthetic stocks for the Mosin Nagants. http://centerfiresystems.com/STKMOI01.aspx

Anyone use one and did you like it? Or does anyone know anything about them and are they worth it?

Hey Leif, I've been looking at these too. I think in addition to the stock you need to buy the bolt handle conversion kit to change it from the straight bolt handle to the bent for the monty carlo stock. If you want to put optics on it I think it is a Must! Look at the pic on the web sight you'll see what I'm talking about. Cut, file, drill, tap and die. Or I bet Bert aka BPTactical could do it for you. [Beer]

Hmmm, ok good points Dave. I will definitely have to research this more. Having to do all of that and buy more, I will definitely have more into it than I paid for it. Might not be worth it.

Thats why I haven't done it yet too. Unless you plan to use it all the time I couldn't see spending the money. [Beer] But it does look much better Sporterising em.

that is a good looking stock. just a lot more work when you could buy a brand new entry level rifle for the same price.

No offense meant- but I'll repeat here what I said in another relevant thread. Mosins are like spiders, noboby wants them around, but you always seem to be within 6 feet of one. I love all kinds of guns, have my "fetishes". You couldn't pay me to own anything in that entire line, unless it has VN capture papers. Capture papers give me a hard-on.

I have a ATI stock on my Mosin. I used it with the stock bolt and now with my new bolt (http://www.rocksolidind.com/mosin-nagant/mosin-nagant-bolt-body-with-handle.html).

Ok, so if you look at the bottom of the page on Amazon at the reviews looks like there is a very minor filing that needs to be done or no modifications at all

I read the reviews on some different sites and it discouraged me at first.

I did find another site that makes some real nice stocks to fit the Mosin but decided to get the ATI.

I am going to get Bert to cut down and crown my barrel.

Then I want to coat it like this.

Yeah that looks good Steve.

The reviews on Amazon are actually pretty good.

I might just give this sucker a go and see what comes of it.
