I saw a member's white work truck with big green stripe down the side off Wadsworth this past weekend. It was parked and I drove by, otherwise I would have said hi.

Could have been, I was directly behind so I could see more sticker then color.

I'll pay the gas any time of the day before I am ever seen in one of those. besides, how am I supposed to haul my ATV or hunting equipment....or make it to the mountains and up the trail to where some fun shooting is at where there aren't other people?
I can't explain my hatred toward the prius...possibly the look of it, maybe the insanely hippieish/tree hugging commercials that portray them, or maybe that crazy libtards with obama and coexist stickers are the extreme vast majority of drivers that own them. probably a combination of all those.
I am all for gas mileage, but out of pure principal I will never own a prius or even consider it. I'll go for a VW TDI or american made car.

Before the Hybrid crazy, I bought a civic hybrid.
It was cheaper than Civic LX, and I couldn't pass on a deal.
After having a 135k near Feb this year, Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) battery cell starting to go bad.
Those batteries costs $2000 used.
Making a long story short, we traded in the car this Aprl for a non-hybrid.
If someone is planning to get a hybrid, I would recommand a hybrid with Li ION batteries, not the NiMH.

If I ever own a Hybrid or a high MPG vehicle I want to get a bumper sticker made up that says "Fuck OPEC" or something to that effect.
I also hate Priuses. They don't get the gas mileage that they say they do. VW diesel is much better.

I don't really have any argument other than pure hate for that car for the reasons I listed about. I really like the idea of 50+ MPG, that would be awesome, but the car has a reputation to be owned mostly (not all...just like all truck drivers aren't redneck hunting guys/gals) by libtards, obama owners, coexist supporters, etc.
As for the volt, I like the idea...but like you said and I agree with you, the technology isn't old enough for me, plus I don't have a use for a small car. I have a 1200 mile commute to work, but lucky for me I don't pay for the gas and it is turbine powered! So my trucks are perfectly acceptable to me.
IF I were to buy an economical type car I would want a TDI jetta as they are proven. a honda civic is hard to beat and I don't want a hybrid. the name is just that...hell chevy makes a "hybrid" suburban and silverado. there is nothing hybrid about them IMO once you factor in the huge cost initially. that 2-3MPG better than standard is going to take forever and a shit ton of miles to recoup the extra initial cost.

I am pretty sure toyota makes a diesel already, they just aren't brought to the US very often. I also think there is talks in the very near future for a tundra with a diesel.
that is one more reason I don't want a small car. I'll take the height, size and weight of my truck any day if I were ever in an accident.
