Were do you check for stress cracks? and is there anything else I should check before taking her out to shoot. Thanks for your input.

Check for battering of the frame and cracks from recoil will occur just above the slide stop cutout. If that area is completely removed it is a later Elite, instead of a broached square hole for the slide stop it will be a slot that extends all the way upward through the frame rails. I would replace the recoil spring, off the top of my melon I don't recall but a 20# or 22# is recommended. A Shok-Buff is cheap insurance but make sure you replace it frequently-250 rounds.

Man I forgot how much fun it is to shoot a hot round through a Colt 10mm. I did make the mistake of shooting it without gloves at first so i am still feeling that, other than that it was a good day.

Whut-you break a nail?[Muaha] Yeah LOL, they were some really hot hand loads I only shot 50 cause I did not want to waist them.
