Im taking my 2 older sons to a haunted house tonight. We are going to the Frightmare Compound off 108th and Olde Wads. I have been to it in the past and thought it was well done. My BIL is a character there and he looks badass.
I guess I need to turn down my situational awareness a bit since I am going in with them and plan on CCWing.
Anyone else enjoy going to these places? I went a lot back when I was single cuz it was an easy excuse for the girl to hang on ya and for some of ya knuckleheads on here a reason to hang on your cousin your taking on a "date"[ROFL1][ROFL2][ROFL3][LOL] (JK Im as lame as all the rest of ya on here, Drilldo knows 1st hand I speak the truth of myself, same with TMLDR03).
Does anyone else CCW when they go to these things?

Never have, but when I've gone, I struggle not to yawn- when you go in knowing it's a show, hard for me to get scared...
I wouldn't hesitate to CCW, but would certainly hesitate to draw...[ROFL2]
Corn maze was the best one I ever went though.

I did the one up at Boondocks a few years ago. The Asylum? I don't remember the name. It was pretty decent. I love haunted houses, but my wife is genuinely terrified by anything even remotely scary, to the point of tears and nightmares, so I don't get to go to them anymore.
Just got home from the 13st manor, worst 17 dollars I ever spent. It use to be one of my favorites. The actors are poorly trained and the makeup sucks. Don't go unless you like throwing away cash and time.

Same here, the wife hates it.

I can tell you the crew hates it when you "scare" them first... so predictable...[Coffee]

I used to go when I was younger for reasons the OP said (females hanging on you) but they never really did anything for me. I've developed a different mindset now, and they've been categorized under the 3S rule.

Which one did you go to? Got lost as all get out last year in Parker. Have you ever been lost in a corn maze with a hungry, tired 3y/o?
I don't remember, it was probably 10 years ago. Some place up north in Brighton.

Frightmare Haunted House (http://www.frightmare.biz/site/)
My boys and one of thier firends had a great time and my BIL was badass looking. It was nicely done and improved from 5 or so years ago since I was last there.
Kids are still in a scared daze since. They are such wimps.
The Chainsaw guy was pretty good and he actually scared the shit out of me cuz he was so well hidden in an open space and popped out when all 4 of us where in the middle of that particular area.

I wonder if you went to the Murray Maze? I used to work there as a haunter, about 8 years ago. It was a great job, getting paid to pop out of the corn and scare guests.

Photos of people being scared at a haunted house. Apparently the room is very dark/pitch black before the photo is taken. The patrons are scared at the same instant the picture is snapped.

Observations:
1. Target fixation.
2. Protecting the face/head.
3. Hiding behind other people.
4. Bringing the hands close to the body.
5. Taking an erect posture and blading the body.
It's interesting that very few people face the "threat" or position themselves to deal with any potential contact. Most of the postures in the photos are purely defensive.
Another interesting thing is the tendency for people to stack. There's a great photo of five or six young men who are stacked up and grabbing onto each other right before the "scare" happens. I bet they'd be strutting around with their chests puffed up if you saw them on The Streetz™.

yeah there is one right off highway 85 near 120th or maybe a little south.
there is also a couple more on the way up 85 toward greeley.
there is another one off riverdale and highway 7 that was pretty good. inside an old barn and they redo the thing every year. that one has been great a couple times.
