I am looking for options / ideas for locking gun displays. I want to hang them on the walls but would like some level of protection.

I have seen the shadowbox type displays and I like them but if I can get better protection that would be nice.

I am looking at displaying 5-10 WWI and WWII rifles over time.

JMHO, but I doubt you can display guns in ANY kind of "lockable" case and expect any reasonable level of security for them. If they can be seen, they can be stolen. Hell, thieves steal whole safes full of them. A lockable display case might keep the dust off of them is all.

Put one of these on the room where your rifles will be displayed. I have a basement room with no windows that I would love to put one of these on for secure storage of my valuables.

just make them unserviceable (pull firing pins), or take out trigger groups or something that would keep them from being able to be fired without some work.

Just looking to slow down the thief and keep the less motivated away. These are primary wall hangers only and all have been disable when on the wall (not my SHTF guns). Really no different than hanging some pictures except they are more of a target.

I wish I had the room to build the vault but I only have the office right now.

Disabled, unserviceable, no firing pins, even broken....a thief isn't going to know that, they'll steal them anyway.

But thinking of an underground concrete room with a vault door gives me wood! That would be the ultimate man-cave right there.

I Wonder if it may be cheaper and better looking to secure your office and put the guns in a nice looking glass case.

Solid outside door, dead bolt(s), re-enforce the door frame, if first floor bars on the windows, etc. It doesn't have to be a safe room or bullet proof, just better. The benefit of this is you get to secure the whole office, not just the guns, and I assume you saying office translates to some paperwork you would rather keep a hold of and a computer or two as well as guns.
